OSCAR DANNY SHERWOOD, 51, of Clinton, died Wednesday, June 13, 2001, at
Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge of pneumonia.
Mr. Sherwood was born Nov. 1, 1949, in Anderson County, the son of Lonnie and
Elizabeth Gilmore Sherwood, who are deceased. He was a U.S. Army veteran of
the Vietnam War.
He was owner and operator of Sherwood Electric in Clinton.
Mr. Sherwood was a member of Jarnigan Chapel Baptist Church in Clinton.
He is survived by his wife, Sandy Sampieri Sherwood; his daughter and son,
Stephanie Sherwood and Danny Lynn Sherwood, both of Clinton; his grandson,
Alex McKinley Sherwood of Clinton; four sisters, Shirley Murray and her
husband, Clayton, and Irene White and her husband, Steve, all of Clinton,
Judy Thacker and her husband, Wayne, of Harriman, and Irma Wright and her
husband, Woody, of Dayton, Ohio; and two brothers, Allen Sherwood and his
wife, Mary, and Mack Sherwood and his wife, Brenda, all of Clinton.
He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Geneva Sampieri of Hamilton, Ohio;
his brother-in-law, Billy Sampieri and his wife, Kim, of LaFollette; his
sister-in-law, Paulette Miller of Fairfield, Ohio; and several nieces and
nephews.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 16, at Jarnigan Chapel
Baptist Church in Clinton with the Rev. Luke Kidwell officiating.
Burial will follow at Grandview Memorial Gardens in Clinton. Members of the
East Tennessee Veterans Honor Guard will conduct full military rites.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 tonight, June 15, at
Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton.

ELLEN CARROLL, 66, of Oliver Springs, died Thursday, June 14, 2001, at
Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.
Born Oct. 4, 1934, in Anderson County, she was the daughter of Calaway and
Ollie Reynolds Byrge. Her father lives in Lake City and her mother is
deceased.
Mrs. Carroll had been a lifelong resident of this area and was a member of
the Old Beechfork Baptist Church, where her family said she was saved at the
age of 12.
She was the widow of Rulie Carroll.
In addition to her father, Mrs. Carroll is survived by her daughters, Janice
Lisenbee and her husband, Terry, and Lora Seeber and her husband, Lewis, all
of Oliver Springs; her son, Larry Carroll of Oak Ridge; seven grandchildren,
Barry Lisenbee, Jennifer Lisenbee, Tracy Lynn Carroll, Laura D. Carroll,
Travis Seeber, Amber Seeber and Sarah Seeber; and two great-grandchildren,
Haley Lisenbee and Sierra Lisenbee.
She is also survived by five brothers, Jimmy Byrge, Early Byrge and Arnold
Byrge, all of Clinton, B.L. Byrge of Powell, and Ike Byrge of Lake City; four
sisters, Ruby McCartt and Joyce Cool, both of Akron, Ohio, Mary Crabtree of
Huntsville and Gail Byrum of Lake City; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 17, at Grave Hill Baptist
Church with the Rev. Harold Duncan and the Rev. Jason McKamey officiating.
Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, June 16, at Sharp
Funeral Home in Oliver Springs.

LAZWRENCE "Larry" SHOOPMAN, 49, of Harriman, died Wednesday, June 13, 2001,
at Fort Sanders Parkwest Medical Center in Knoxville.
Mr. Shoopman was born Sept. 30, 1951, in Oak Ridge, the son of Jewell Bourne
and Lawrence Shoopman, who are deceased. He had lived most of his life in
Harriman and was self-employed.
He is survived by his daughter, Machel Chambers of Harriman; his
grandchildren, Haley Jo Chambers and Seth Ryley Humphrey; his sisters, Ruth
Drewery of Harriman and Bonnie Gann and her husband, Coy, of Harriman; and
several nieces and nephews, including two he considered special, Cody Gann
and Cary Gann.
The funeral will be held at 8 tonight, June 15, in the chapel of Sharp
Funeral Home in Oliver Springs with the Rev. Garvan Walls officiating.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 16, at
Anderson Memorial Gardens, 640 Oliver Springs Highway, Clinton.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at the funeral home.
