COX, FLORA FRANCIS - age 73, of Powell, Tenn., passed away Monday, June 4,
2001, at U. T. Hospital in Knoxville. She was a member of Bishopville Baptist
Church. Mrs. Cox was preceded in death by parents, William R. and Manda
Harbin Whittaker; infant son, Robert Cox; granddaughter, Melissa Enix, and
sister, Minnie Elliott. Survivors include husband, Elmer C. Cox of Powell,
Tenn.; daughters, Faye and husband Michael Coffey of LaFollette, Tenn., and
Ann Reaves of Knoxville, Tenn.; son, Alan Cox of Powell, Tenn.; six
grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; sister, Ruth King of Michigan,
and sisters-in-law, Madeline Lockhart of Claxton and Mary Bean of Illinois.
The family will receive friends 7-8 p.m. Tuesday, June 5, 2001, at
Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton. Funeral service will be 8 p.m. Tuesday
at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home with the Rev. Ed Bounds officiating. Graveside
service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Zion Cemetery in Claxton

SOULEYRETTE, BARBARA - age 68, of Oak Ridge, passed away Sunday, June 2,
2001, at the Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge, following an unexpected
brief illness. Born June 12, 1932, in Fidelity, Kentucky, to Claude and Marie
Marcum. Preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Souleyrette; brother, Kenneth
Marcum of Knoxville, and sister, Claudette Holladay of Columbia, Kentucky.
Survived by daughter, Claudia Souleyrette; son, Michael Souleyrette with wife
Amy and children Maria and Peter, and brother, Bill Marcum, all of Oak Ridge;
sister, Sheila Denney and brother-in-law, Donald Denney of Kettering, Ohio;
sister, Patricia Marcum of Stearns, Kentucky, and special friends, Loretta
Crane and Renate Turner of Oak Ridge. Mrs. Souleyrette came to Oak Ridge in
1962. She was a mother and housewife and later worked for several years for
the Oak Ridge Housing Authority until she retired in 1990. She was a member
of Calvary Baptist Church of Oak Ridge. She had many hobbies, her favorite of
which was making Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls to sell and give away. She really
enjoyed children and loved to participate in the Operation Christmas Child
Ministry of Samaritan's Purse. The family would like to extend special thanks
to the Shut-In Ministry of Calvary Baptist Church for their faithful service
over many years. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations
be made in her memory to Operation Christmas Child, PO Box 3000, Boone, NC
28607, or to Calvary Baptist Church Shut-In Ministry, 163 North Jefferson
Circle, Oak Ridge. Funeral services are Wednesday, June 6, 2001, at 8 p.m. at
Weatherford Mortuary with Rev. Doug Williams officiating. Graveside services
are Thursday at 10 a.m. at Oak Ridge Memorial Park. The family will receive
friends Wednesday, June 6 from 6-8 p.m. at Weatherford Mortuary, Oak Ridge.

WADDELL, MARY ISABELLA - age 82, of Clinton, departed this life on Sunday,
June 3, 2001, to be with Jesus. Mrs. Waddell was a Christian woman, and a
member of Bethel Baptist Church. She was born June 11, 1918, in Scott Co.,
Virginia, to the late Charles F. and Lula V. Burke Nickels. She was preceded
in death by husband, Joseph Lloyd Waddell and infant son, J. L. Waddell, Jr.
Survivors include daughter, Judy and husband Richard Bair; sons, Frank and
wife Betty Waddell, Larry and wife Wilma Waddell; grandchildren, Sarah,
Denver, Mary Jewel and Esther; sister, Madge Salyer and many nieces and
nephews. The family will receive friends 7-8:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 5, 2001,
at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton. Funeral service will be 8:30 p.m.
Tuesday at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home with the Rev. Mark Keith officiating.
Graveside service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Norris Memorial Garden in
Norris, Tenn.
