BLACKMON, JOSEPH "JOE" PETER - 47, died on Friday, May 18, 2001 at the
University Medical Center in Ann Arbor, Michigan, after a short illness.
Survivors include: parents, Pete and Brownie Blackmon, Oak Ridge; brother,
Mike Blackmon and his wife, Debra and their daughters, Rachel and Ashley of
Kissimee, Florida. Funeral service will be held in the chapel of Weatherford
Mortuary on Monday, 8 PM. Graveside service will be held on Tuesday, May 22,
2001, 10 AM at Oak Ridge Memorial Park. The family will receive friends
Monday, 6--8 PM at Weatherford Mortuary, Oak Ridge.
POWERS, DORIS D. - age 76 of Oak Ridge, passed away May 19, 2001 at her son's
residence in Rockwood, Tenn. She was a member of Central Baptist Church.
Preceded in death by her husband, Jack W. Powers, Sr. Survivors: son, Jack W.
Powers, Jr. and wife, Janie of Rockwood, Tenn.; daughter, Annette Powers of
Oak Ridge, Tenn.; grandchildren, Jack W. Powers, III and Keri A. Medina of
Atlanta, Ga.; brothers, Jacob M. Davenport Jr. and Harold Davenport; sisters,
Tressie D. Cole and Marie D. Adams. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m.
Sunday 5/20/2001 at Martin Oak Ridge Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside service
will be Monday 2 p.m. at Oak Ridge Memorial Park with Rev. John Shaw
officiating. Arrangements by Martin Oak Ridge Funeral Home 1017 Turnpike, Oak
Ridge
WRIGHT, EDITH V. - age 90, of Halls, formerly of LaFollette, Tenn., passed
away Saturday, May 19, 2001 at St. Mary's Hospital. Funeral arrangements are
