DANNY AUSMUS, 59, of 217 Eagle Bluff Rd., Jacksboro, died Sunday, April 15,
at St. Mary;s of Campbell County. He was a member of the Hillcrest Baptist
Church.
He was preceded in death by daughter Danniel Ausmus; and parents Lawrence and
Mary Siler Ausmus.
He is survived by wife Alicia Ausmus of Jacksboro; daughter Dr. Peni Lynn
Hirt of Knoxville; step-daughter Gloria Martinez of Jacksboro; brothers James
Ausmus of Linwood, Wash. and Kenneth and Doyle Ausmus of LaFollettte; and 1
grandchild.
Funeral services were held on Monday, at the Martin Wilson Chapel with Rev.
Timothy Moore and Rev. Hobart McCreary officiating. Interment was held in the
Ausmus Cemetery.
Martin Wilson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
LLOYD LECIL BROWN, 63, of the Mefford Community in Lake City, died Monday,
April 16, at the Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge. Lloyd was of the
Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by parents Creasie Phillips Bunch and Clifford Bunch
and Gene Brown.
He is survived by wife Angela Mills Brown of Lake City; daughters Savannah
Shea Brown of Lake City, Rockie Jo Lovely of Briceville, and Patsy Lowe of
LaFollette; sisters Sarah Crowley and Sue Foust both of Clinton, Mary Woods
of Oak Ridge, and Sabra Lennox of Lenior City; brother Carvin Bunch of
Clinton; and 4 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 19 at 2 p.m. at the Browns
Flat Baptist Church with Rev. Tom Byrge and Rev. Jimmy Ray Seiber
officiating. Interment will be held in the Browns Flat Cemetery.
Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Lake City was in charge of arrangements.
HOMER COOK, 68, of Michigan formerly of Elk Valley, died March 25.
He was preceded in death by parents Elmer and Bessie Green Cook; and Brothers
Dorsey and Benny.
He is survived by wife Fay; step-daughters Liz and Nona; step-son Ronnie;
sisters Lillie Garner and Loretta Long of Knoxville; brothers Edgar and Roger
of Mich. Clarence and Robert of Ohio, Elmer Jr., Clayton, Raymond, and Clyde
of LaFollette.
HELEN CRABTREE, 56, of the Straight Fork Community died Monday, April 9, at
the Methodist Medical Center on Oak Ridge. She was a member of the Morning
Star Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by parents Elwood and Cynthia Baird Riseden; sister
Betty Jean Phillips; brothers Troy, Randy, Kenneth, Eugene, and Lester
Riseden.
She is survived by husband D.T. Crabtree; daughters Kay Crabtree of the
Straight Fork Community and Cynthia McCarty of the Annadell Community; sons
Junior and Gary Crabtree of the Straight Fork Community; sisters Lorene
Rowell of Palametto, Ga. and Tammy Riseden of the Straight Fork Community;
brothers Emmit Riseden of the Paint Rock Community, Frank Riseden of
Huntsville, Millard Riseden of the Buffalo Community, Bobby Riseden of the
Straight Fork Community, and Jimmy Riseden of Huntsville; and 10
grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, April 12, at the Morning Star Baptist
Church with Pastor Larry Sexton and Bro. George Lloyd officiating.
Four Oaks Funeral Home of Huntsville was in charge of arrangements.
GERTRUDE CLOUGH DAVENPORT, 88, of West Palm Beach, died April 1. She was a
member of the Northwood Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by husband William "Bill" Davenport.
She is survived by sister, Elsie Weeks; brothers William Pat Clough both of
West Palm Beach, Fla., Rev. G. Lloyd (Margot) Clough of Mims, Fla.
Graveside services were held on Wednesday, April 4, at Hillcrest Memorial
Park with Rev. G. Lloyd Clough and Rev. A. Scott Hutchinson conducting.

AGNES DILBECK DURHAM, 54, of LaFollette, died Wednesday, April 11, at her
home.
She is survived by children Shirley Fox, John, Michael, Kenny, and Billy Joe
Durham all of LaFollette, and Stevie Durham of Lake City; sisters Shirley
Isbel of Loveland, Ohio, Norma Walz of LaFollette, and Faye Greene of Piqua,
Ohio; brothers Bill Dilbeck of LaFollette, and Ronnie Dilbeck of Ballground,
Ga.; and 15 grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, at the Friendship Community Church
with Rev. Hansford Bolton and Rev. Andrew Ayers officiating. Interment was
held in the Davis Cemetery.

HOWARD EDWARD LYNCH, 75, formerly of Jellico, died April 13. He served in the
U.S. Navy During WWII.
He is survived by wife Ethel Marie Lovett Lynch of Goose Creek, S.C., son
Lonnie H. Tony Godsey, Sr.; daughter Sherry Lynch Crosby of Goose Creek,
S.C.; sister Pat Lynch of Jellico; brother Eddie Lynch of Atlanta, Ga.;
mother Louise Blankenship of Jellico; 3 grandchildren and 2 great
grandchildren.
Funeral services and interment were held in the Carolina Memorial Gardens,
Monday, April 16.
HAZEL C. ELLIS, 91, of Jellico died Tuesday, April 10, at the Jellico
Community Hospital. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Jellico.
She was preceded in death by daughter Franny, husband Carl; and brother E.H.
"Dick: Creekmore, Sr.
She is survived by son Michael Ellis of Longwood, Fla.; sister George Adkins
of Jellico; 1 grandchild and 2 great-grandson.
Funeral services were held on Saturaday, April 14, at the Cox & Son Chapel
with Rev. Michael Blankenship officiating. Interment was held in the Jellico
Cemetery.

CLAUDE GIBSON, 93, of Clinton, died Tuesday, April 17, at Briarcliff Health
Care Center in Oak Ridge. He was a member of the Lick Creek Holiness Church.
He was a WWII U.S. Army veteran.
He was preceded in death by wife Pauline Queener Gibson; parents Francis and
Rachel Gobson; six brothers and 3 sisters.
He is survived by daughter Claudia Caines of Clinton.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, April 18, at Cross Funeral Home
Chapel with Rev. Hansford Bolton officiating. Interment was held in the
Woodlawn Cemetery.

EUGENE EVERETT LONGMIRE, 56, of Caryville, died Sunday, April 15, at Ft.
Sanders Regional Medical Center, Knoxville.
He was preceded in death by father William A. Longmire; and sister Lela Love.
He is survived by wife Lucie Ivey of Caryville; sons Timothy F., Clifford A.,
and everett Shaun Longmire all of LaFollette; daughter Christian Destiny
Longmire, Vonroe; mother Lizzie Longmire; brothers J.T. Longmar of Jacksboro,
and Jessie Longmire of LaFollette; sisters Jeannie Bell Goins of Savannah,
Ga., Billie Claiborne of Claiborne, Judy Caddell and Patsy Turner both of
LaFollette.

JIMMY VERNAL MCNELLEY, 64, of N. Chamberlain Ave., Rockwood died Saturday, in
the Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge. He was a member of the First
Baptist Church of LaFollette.
He was preceded in death by parents Arthur V. and ethel Crawford McNelley;
wife Joyce Anne McNelley; and son Jimmy Christopher McNelley.
He is survived by daughter Angie of Rockwood; son Gregory Vernal McNelley of
Jacksboro; former wife Jewel McNelley of Knoxville; and 1 grandchild.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, at the chapel of Evans Mortuary with
Rev. Charles Schultz officiating. Interment was held in the Oak Grove
Cemetery.

ANN RUTH MARLOW SCHULZ, 69, of Machesney Park, Ill. died April 12 of cancer.
She was preceded in death by son Clifford Neal; parents brother Hoyal A.
Marlow.
She is survived by husband Karl H. Schulz; son Gene Neal of Davis Junction,
Ill.; sisters Cuemyle Hale and Janice Engle, Ohio, Myonia Stone of
California, 3 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson.

RUBIE LEOLA DANIE STEWART, 84, of Clinton died on April 10 at the Methodist
Medical Center. She was a member of the Fratersville Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by husband Condy Stewart, Sr.; son Bill Stewart;
brother Scotty Nance; and sister Ruby Harness.
She is survived by sons Condy "Moose" Stewart of Lake City and Jim Stewart of
Clinton; daughters Brenda Leach of Clinton and Peggy Gaskill of Lake City;
brothers Clayton Daniels and Thomas Nance, Jr.; sisters Bernice Patterson,
Berlie Ellen Roberts, and Zenith Bailey; 10 grandchildren and 12
great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, April 12, at Holley-Gamble Funeral
Home in Lake City with Rev. Tom Byrge, Rev. Robbie Leach, and Rev. Roger
Leach officiating. Interment was held in the Woodhaven Memorial Gardens in
Claxton.

DOROTHY HAYES LEE WRIGHT, 69, died Saturday, April 14, at her home in
LaFollette.
She was preceded in death by parents Harrison and Gypsy McBee Hayes; sisters
Althea and Tommie; and husband Robert Lee and Bill Wright.
She is survived by sons Charles Lee Baker, La., David Lee of Buffalo; brother
Dr. Hugh Hayes of Belmont, N.C.; sisters Jeanne Ray, Baltimore, Md. And
Carolyn Allen, Jacksboro; 4 grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, at the Martin Wilson Chapel with Rev.
Howard Tapp officiating. Interment was held in the Woodlawn Cemetery.

RALPH (Red) WARAX, 76, Caryville, died April 15, at St. Mary's Medical Center
of Campbell County. He was a member of Jacksboro First Baptist Church. He was
a veteran of WWII.
He was preceded in death by sons Brad Warax and Jeff Warax.
He is survived by son David and Karen Warax of Texas; brother Charlie Warax
of Fla.; sister Shirley Warax Maples of Cal.; 6 grandchildren and 1
great-grandchild.
Graveside service and interment were held on Wednesday, April 18, at
Jacksboro Cemetery with Dr. Charles Parker offiiating.
