MATTICS, HELEN STURGEON - age 83 of Claxton, went to be with Jesus April 14,
2001 at her home. She was baptized in Jesus Christ at an early age. Mrs.
Mattics attended Powell Presbyterian Church and had retired from ORNL Federal
Credit Union. She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Ethel Smith
Extine; parents, John & Ethel Wrinkle Sturgeon; husband, L.L. Mattics; and
brother in law, Neil Miller. Survived by granddaughter, Joyce Extine
Trujillo; great grandchildren, Roger Coffey, Jr. & Lina Trujillo; sister,
Gladys Miller; nephews, Neil Miler, Jr., and Carl Miller; nieces, Marilyn
BinHammer; stepson, Ronald Mattics of Colo. and nine step grandchildren.
Family and friends will meet Wednesday at the main entrance to Greenwood
Cemetery for a 3 p.m. graveside service with Rev. David Barnett officiating.
The family requests memorials be made to Save the Children Federation, 54
Wilton Rd., Westport, Ct. 06880. Friends may call at the family home
Wednesday following the graveside service. Arrangements by Rose Mortuary
Broadway Chapel.
