LISA GAILE WHALEN, 37, of Oliver Springs, died Wednesday, April 4, 2001, at
Roane Medical Center in Harriman of multiple sclerosis.
Mrs. Whalen was born Sept. 1, 1963, in Oliver Springs, the daughter of Ted
and Hazel Whalen, who are deceased. She had lived in Alabama for seven years
and in Kentucky for one year.
She attended Oliver Springs schools and Roane State Community College.
She was a member of Mount Pisgah Baptist Church in Oliver Springs.
Mrs. Whalen is survived by her children, Trey, Kalan and Alex, all of Oliver
Springs; her brothers, Ted Whalen and his wife, Judy, of Loxley, Ala., Bud
Whalen and his wife, Betty, of Oliver Springs and Paul Whalen and his wife,
Rose, of Knoxville; and her sisters, Sherry "Linda" Cox and her husband,
Danny, of Harriman, Barbara Goad and her husband, James, of Clinton and Mimi
Parnell and her husband, Ron, of North Augusta, S.C.
She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Delane Chavers, who provided much
support during the years of her illness; and by several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Whalen was preceded in death by two sisters,
Nancy Chavers and Kathy Joanne Whalen, a brother, Lenny Whalen, a nephew,
Shay Whalen, and by a special friend, Gina Hackworth.
The family would like to thank the members of Mount Pisgah Baptist Church,
the staff of the Morgan County Regional Correction Facility and residents of
Oliver Springs for their help in making Mrs. Whalen's life better and
enabling her to stay with her children as long as possible.
The funeral will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, April 8, in the chapel of Sharp
Funeral Home in Oliver Springs with the Rev. Garvan Walls officiating.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, April 9, at Oliver
Springs Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

LENA ELLA DIAL, 84, of Clinton, died Wednesday, April 4, 2001, at her home.
Miss Dail was born April 8, 1916, in Anderson County, the daughter of Rufus
M. and Stella Johnson Dail, who are deceased.
She had worked for 30 years as a folder at the former Magnet Mills in
Clinton.
Miss Dail was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Clinton.
She is survived by her sister-in-law, Thelma Denny Dail of Clinton, and by
several cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother,
Fletcher F. Dail.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 7, in the chapel of
Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton.
The Rev. David Hanes and the Rev. Herschel Barrington will officiate.
Burial will follow at Dutch Valley United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family requests that any memorials be in the form of donations to
Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, 510 Old Dutch Valley Road, Clinton, TN 37716;
or to the cemetery fund at Dutch Valley United Methodist Church, Dutch Valley
Road, Clinton, TN 37716.
