ANGELA K. HAMBY, 92, of Oak Ridge, died Saturday, March 31, 2001, at
Continuum Courtyards in Oak Ridge.
She was born in Atlanta, Ga., and lived in its metropolitan area for 89
years.
She and her husband of 66 years, Charles G. "Charlie" Hamby Sr., who survives
her, moved to Oak Ridge three years ago.
Prior to the move, Mrs. Hamby had been a frequent visitor to Oak Ridge in
order to enjoy her local family: her daughter and son-in-law, Mary H. and Tom
Kollie; and three of her grandchildren, Angela Kollie Krause of Atlanta, U.S.
Navy Lt. Cmdr. Thomas G. Kollie Jr. of Millington, Tenn., and Theresa Kollie
of Knoxville.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Oak Ridge.
In addition to her husband and her local daughter and family, she is survived
by her son, Charles G. "Chip" Hamby Jr. of Atlanta; another daughter and
son-in-law, Melanie and Joe Kingston of Decatur, Ga.; and by six other
grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to acknowledge with grateful appreciation the compassionate
and loving care given to Mrs. Hamby by the dedicated staff of Continuum
Courtyards, saying their devotion has been beyond measure.
A funeral Mass was celebrated Monday, April 2, at St. Thomas More Catholic
Church in Decatur.
Burial followed at Westview Cemetery in Atlanta.
The family requests that any memorials be in the form of gifts to a charity
of the donor's choice.

JOHN M. MARTIN Jr., 76, of Clinton, died at 12:04 a.m. Tuesday, April 3,
2001, at St. Mary's Medical Center in Knoxville after a long illness.
Mr. Martin retired from the Tennessee Valley Authority in 1987 after more
than 35 years of service. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of
Electrical Workers Local No. 760 in Knoxville.
He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II and the Korean War.
Mr. Martin was a member of Mount Harmony Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mary Martin; his sons, Gerald Martin
and Gary Martin and his wife, Barbara, all of Knoxville; his daughters, Gail
Fulwilder and her husband, Chris, of Knoxville, and Genny Blevins and her
husband, Kevin, of Lenoir City; and his grandchildren, William Monroe Martin
and Kristy Jardet and her husband, Chris, all of Knoxville, Bailey and Beccah
Blevins of Lenoir City and Gregory Martin.
Mr. Martin is also survived by his brothers, Troy D. Martin of Clinton and
Charles M. Martin of Spokane, Wash.; his sisters, May Hensley of Sylva, N.C.,
and Glenna Greene of South Carolina; and by several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and four other sisters.
The funeral will be held at 2 this afternoon, April 5, in the chapel of
Woodhaven Funeral Home in Claxton with the Rev. Steve Salee and the Rev.
Stephen DeFur officiating.
Burial will follow at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens in Claxton.

ANNE LILLY FISHER, 79, of Clinton, died Tuesday, April 3, 2001, at Windwood
Health & Rehabilitation Center in Clinton.
Mrs. Fisher was born Feb. 23, 1922, in Bluefield, W.Va., the daughter of C.A.
and Eva Dinwiddie Lilly, who are deceased. She attended Bluefield College and
graduated from Westhampton College in Richmond, Va., with graduate studies at
Columbia University in New York City.
She was the widow of Joseph "Jody" Fisher, who was a football coach at
Clinton High School. Mrs. Fisher had taught math at Clinton High for many
years.
She was a member of Memorial United Methodist Church in Clinton.
Mrs. Fisher is survived by her daughters, Anne Brunson and her husband, Don,
of Memphis and Jeanie Crowley and her husband, Mike, of Randolph, N.J.; her
son, Tom Fisher and his wife, Karen, of Knoxville; her sister, Hopie Turpin
and her husband, Frank, of Texas; and nine grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and her parents, Mrs. Fisher was preceded in death
by her brother, James A. Lilly.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 6, in the chapel of
Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton with the Rev. Don Thomas officiating.
Burial will follow at Grandview Memorial Gardens in Clinton.
The family requests that any memorials be in the form of donations to the
Coach Jody Fisher Memorial Weight Room, c/o Clinton High School, 425 Dragon
Drive, Clinton, TN 37716.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
