HELEN M. BRAUN, of Oak Ridge, died Tuesday, March 20, 2001, at Briarcliff
Health Care Center.
Born May 4, 1916, in West Hoboken, N.J., now Union City, she was one of 11
children of Irwin and Adeline Bauman Jeker, all now deceased.
She was the widow of Walter Braun, who died in 1955. Since 1968, she had
lived with her daughter and son-in-law, Carole and Joseph Blass, moving with
them to Oak Ridge in 1974.
Mrs. Braun enjoyed reading, letter writing, cooking, sewing and painting. She
wrote regularly to family and friends, especially to those serving in the
armed forces. Her family described her as a creative cook, improving upon the
recipes she collected. She made much of her own and her daughters' clothing,
and several of her scenic oil paintings were awarded first prize at the
Anderson County Fair.
In addition to her local daughter and son-in-law, Mrs. Braun is survived by
another daughter, Linda Fields and her husband, Walter, of Atlanta, Ga.; her
son, Kenneth Braun and his wife, Margaret, of Marco Island, Fla.; and by nine
grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Her friends, Edna Nakamura and Eleanor Wade, both of Oak Ridge, shared her
interest in painting.
In accordance with Mrs. Braun's wishes, the body is to be cremated and the
ashes are to be buried at a later date in Madonna Cemetery in Fort Lee, N.J.
A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday, March 26, in the chapel
of St. Mary's Catholic Church with the Rev. Michael Woods officiating.
The family requests that any memorials be in the form of donations to St.
Mary's Catholic Church, 327 Vermont Ave., Oak Ridge, TN 37830; Keystone Elder
Day Center, P.O. Box 4669, Oak Ridge, TN 37831; or to a charity of the
donor's choice.
The family will receive friends from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Monday at the
church.
Weatherford Mortuary is handling arrangements.

PATRICIA E.. "Pat" BRUCER, 87, of Tucson, Ariz., died Monday, March 19, 2001,
in Tucson of complications from congestive heart failure, emphysema and
breast cancer.
She was the widow of Dr. Marshall Brucer, a pioneer in nuclear medicine and
the first director of the Medical Division of the Oak Ridge Institute of
Nuclear Studies, now Oak Ridge Associated Universities.
Mrs. Brucer was born April 22, 1913, and grew up in Quincy, Ill. She was an
English major and art student at the University of Chicago and Chicago Art
Institute. By World War II, she had been a designer and editor in
advertising, publishing and at the University of Chicago's International
House.
She later studied painting with Professor Kermit Ewing at the University of
Tennessee. Her award-winning work, mostly portraits and landscapes, was
exhibited in Chicago, Boston, Knoxville and Oak Ridge, and is in several
private collections.
She was one of the founders in 1952 of the Oak Ridge Community Art Center and
was a member of the League of Women Voters for 30 years, including three
terms (1966-1972) on the League of Women Voters of Arizona's state board,
where she wrote and edited the quarterly LWV Bulletin and other LWV
publications.
Mrs. Brucer was the author of two genealogy monographs during many years of
research for a book about her Swiss-English-Irish ancestors.
She is survived by her son, John M. Brucer of Tucson.
No service or visitation will be held.
Abbey Funeral Chapel in Tucson is handling arrangements.

BRENDA IDLES HENEGAR, 54, of Briceville, died Tuesday, March 20, 2001, at
Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.
Mrs. Henegar is survived by her husband, Clyde Burris Jr.; her daughters,
Paula Henegar Parks and her husband, David, of Lake City, and Lora Henegar
and Bridget Henegar Thomas and her husband, Chris, all of Briceville; and by
five grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 8:30 tonight, March 21, in the chapel of
Cox-Martin Funeral Home in Lake City with the Rev. Bill Thomas and the Rev.
Chris Thomas officiating.
A graveside service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 22, at
Circle Cemetery in Briceville.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:30 tonight at the funeral home.

WILLIE BUNCH, 87, of Lake City, died Tuesday, March 20, 2001, at St. Mary's
Medical Center in LaFollette.
Mr. Bunch is survived by his daughters, Mary Hembree of Lake City and Viola
Hembree and her husband, Arnold D. Hembree, of Caryville; and by three
grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 8 p.m. Thursday, March 22, in the chapel of
Cox-Martin Funeral Home in Lake City with the Rev. Justin Phillips
officiating.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, March 23, at Circle
Cemetery in Briceville.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

VIRGINIA KING HULL, 85, of Oak Ridge, died Tuesday, March 20, 2001 at
Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.
Born Feb. 5, 1916 in Ivanhoe, Va., she was the daughter of Rosalee Jones and
Emmett Asbury King.
Mrs. Hull was a homemaker and a member of First Presbyterian Church. She was
also a lifetime member of Knoxville's Friends of the Zoo. She enjoyed
gardening, doing needlework and bird watching.
She was the widow of C.C. Hull, who died Feb. 16, 1991.
Mrs. Hull is survived by her sons, Samuel Lee Hull and his wife, Mary Ann, of
Oak Ridge, and Ronnie Hull and his wife, Faye, of Kingston; and her
daughters, Barbara Prewett and her husband, Powell, and Yolanda Briggs and
her husband, Bill, all of Oak Ridge, and Mary Lou Wadley and her husband,
Larry, of Chattanooga.
She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, Connie Hull of Knoxville, Theresa
Bradley and Patrick Hull and his wife, Patty, all of Cookeville, Kelly Moore
and her husband, Steve, and Jasmine Brown and her husband, Mark, all of
Kingston, Ericka Peckinpaugh and her husband, Israel, of Chattanooga,
Stephany Kinnick and her husband, Dub, of Oceanside, Calif., Kimberly Russell
and her husband, Max, of Hershey, Pa., John Bradley of Pennsylvania and
Heather Bradley of Oak Ridge; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Betty Braden of Lake City was considered a very special friend.
In addition to her husband and her parents, Mrs. Hull was preceded in death
by a grandson, Scott Hedrick.
The funeral will be held at 8 p.m. Thursday, March 22, in the chapel of
Weatherford Mortuary with the Rev. Larry Dipboye officiating.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 23, at Anderson
Memorial Gardens, Oliver Springs Highway, Clinton.
The family requests that any memorials be in the form of donations to the
American Lung Association, 109 Northshore Drive, Knoxville, TN 37919.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary.
