From: Susan Miller <>Would you please reply to the
list on this question?
OK, Susan. The best place to look for records will be The Campbell County
Historical Society & The court house. Jellico Library, Caryville Library, &
Jacksboro Library all have a few genealogy records, but not as much. The
LaFollette Library has none, because they gave them all to the Historical
Society. The society has printed form of some of the census & the later
census are on microfilm.
In my opinion, The McClung Library at Knoxville has more on Campbell Co. The
courthouse will be where you look for marriage records, if you want them
after the 1900's. It is located at Jacksboro. Sooo...If you are looking at
staying in Campbell County & want to be close to these places, then I would
recommend Caryville, right off I-75. You're not that far from these places &
also next to interstate for traveling on to Jellico or to Knoxville. When
you decide to come & need hotel/motel names & numbers, I'll be glad to get
those for you. If you have any more questions, just ask! :o)
