Rachel Kathleen Keith, 90, of Oak Ridge, died Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2001, at
Briarcliff Health Care Center.
Mrs. Keith was born March 24, 1910, in Bardwell, Texas. She was a former
resident of the Texas cities of Dallas, Fort Worth, Ennis and Tyler. Her
parents were Richard Oscar and Mae Roach.
She was the widow of Cecil Andrew Keith, a builder and rancher who died in
1973. For several years, she and her husband enjoyed traveling in their
travel trailer and made many trips through the western, inner mountain and
southern portions of the United States and Mexico.
In 1986, Mrs. Keith moved to Oak Ridge to be near her son. She and many of
her friends enjoyed shopping and finding new restaurants in the area.
She was a member of New York Avenue Church of Christ.
Mrs. Keith is survived by her son, Don A Keith and his wife, Carolyn, of Oak
Ridge; her daughter, Joanne Fischer of Glendale, Calif.; and three
grandchildren, Jon Mark Keith and his wife, Robin, of Ann Arbor, Mich., Debra
DeeAnn Dossett and her husband, Tom, of Memphis and Jo-David Keith and his
wife, Melissa, of Nashville.
She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Lindsey Keith and Amanda
Keith, both of Ann Arbor, Keith Clinton, Brian Clinton, Morgan Dossett and
Jordan Dossett, all of Memphis, and Collin Keith and Carly Keith, both of
Nashville.
Three sisters, Lucile Whitefield of Tyler and Hallie May Splawn and Lorena
O'Neal Keel, both of Ennis, died earlier.
The family requests that any memorials be in the form of donations to East
Tennessee Christian Services, 4638 Chambliss Ave., Knoxville TN 37919; or to
a charity of the donor's choice.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 20, at
Weatherford Mortuary.
William E. Bunch, 52, of the Frost Bottom community of Oliver Springs, died
Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2001, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.
Sharp Funeral Home in Oliver Springs is handling arrangements, which were
incomplete this morning.
Goldie Jones, 81, of Oliver Springs, died this morning, Jan. 18, 2001, at the
Life Care Center of Morgan County.
