GOODMAN, ROBERT C. - age 79, of Clinton passed away Wednesday, January 3,
2001 at the Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge. He was born March 2, 1921
in Mt. Olive, Ill. He was a member of Northview Baptist Church in Lexington,
Ky. His hobbies included working in his yard & watching ball games on TV. He
served two years in CCC. Robert was a United States Army veteran who served
in World War II with duty in England & Europe. He landed in Normandy, France
on D Day, imprisoned in Paris, France while on leave because he was blonde
and "looked German" and was believed to be a spy. Robert was employed at
Decatur Signal Depot in Decatur, Ill. for twelve years, transferred to
Lexington Army Depot in Ky. in 1960 and worked there until retirement. He
moved to Clinton, Tenn. in 1984. Preceded in death by parents, William & Theo
Root Goodman; sisters, Alice Wilson & Geraldine Goodman; brothers, William,
Wesley, Lloyd & Thomas Goodman. Survivors; wife of 51 years. Faye Osborne
Goodman of Clinton, Tenn.; daughter, Connie Suzanne Noller & husband, Paul of
Lexington, Ky.; sons, Robert C. Goodman, Jr. & wife, Annie of Mojave, Calif.,
Ronald E. Goodman of Lexington, Ky.; sisters, Ina Taylor of Lake Havasu City,
Ariz., Harriet Burbes of Decatur, Ill., Jackie Curtsinger of Decatur, Ill.;
brothers, Rex Goodman of Decatur, Ill., David R. Goodman of Clinton, Ill.;
grandchildren, Dawn Ann Rake, Margie Birkes & Robert C. Goodman, III of
Temple, TX Brittany & Kendall Goodman of Lexington, Ky.; 5 great
grandchildren. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday January 5th at
Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton with funeral service following at 8
p.m. in the chapel with Rev. E.L. Martin officiating. Interment will be held
10:30 a.m. Saturday at Sunset Cemetery. Holley-Gamble Funeral Home of Clinton
is in charge of arrangements.

ELLIS, MRS. ELSWORTH MAE - was born November 28, 1920 in Lake City, Tenn. to
the union of Charlie Huvon Baker and Lilly McCellan, and responded to God's
call to come home one December 31, 2000. The care and nurturing of her
children; grandchildren; nieces; nephews, and foster children was the focal
point of her life. Elsworth was a care giver and devoted her life to these
tasks. She was preceded in death by her father, Charlie Baker; mother, Lilly
Baker; brother, Charles Huvon Baker, Jr., Roscoe McClellan, James A. Ellis,
Paul Luther Ellis, Massie Ellis; great niece, Jeanette Moore, and other
relatives. She leaves to mourn her passing, loving husband, Paul L. Ellis;
first born, Evangelist, Sarah Evans (Harold); son, Charles Dexter (Claudia);
grandsons, David L. Edwards, Joshua Ellis; devoted granddaughter, Tanya and
Charles Smith; grandson, Mark Tate; nephews, Charles Baker; niece, Carolyn
Baker; adopted grandsons, George and Brandon; sisters in law, Berline Ellis,
Evangelist, Libby Sales, Barbara Jean and Benson Ogbomo, James and Karen
Ellis, Charles Ernest and Vercilla Ellis, Clarence and Erin Ellis, Grady
Ellis, Cleo and Fay Ellis, Maxine and Willie Davidson, Marcia and Lincoln
Barton, Brian and Dianne Ellis, Jan Ellis, Sister Manning, Sister Wilma,
Karen and Gary Harness, Sister Hilda, Cleo Brown Wilson, Gene and Rose
Summerour, and many other beloved relatives and friends. The family will
receive friends on Saturday, January 6, 2001 from 12-1p.m. with funeral
services to follow at 1 p.m. at Unity Mortuary Chapel. Rev. Poterfield
Bradby, officiating. Interment Monday, January 8, 2001, 10 a.m. Tennessee
State Veterans Cemetery, 5901 Lyons View Pike in Knoxville. The family will
assemble at the home of Charles and Claudia Ellis, 2829 Linden Ave. in
Knoxville. Arrangements by Unity Mortuary.

TAYLOR, CLAUDE H. - age 76 of Lake City passed away Tuesday January 02, 2001
at the Lake City Health Care Center. He was born Mary 20, 1924 in Campbell
County, Tenn. He was a longtime member, deacon, and Sunday school teacher of
the Laurel Branch Baptist Church. He was a member of the Crystal Lodge #616
in Briceville, Tenn. He was also a recipenant of the Purple Heart in World
War II. He retired from Dempster Brothers in Knoxville and worked part time
with Murray Guards. He is preceded in death by parents, Will and Molly
Taylor; sisters, Maude Williamson and Marie Copeland; brothers, George Walter
and Tom Taylor. Survivors; wife of 56 years, Bertha Patterson Taylor, Lake
City; daughter, Sue and husband, James Hollis, Lake City; grandchildren, Beth
and David Murrick, Lake City, Norris and Tommy Hollis, Lake City; foster
daughter, Trish and husband, Eric Childress, Lake City; foster son, Benny and
wife, Peggy Buttnam, Lake City; four great grandchildren; and a host of
relatives and friends. Visitation 6-8 p.m. Thursday January 4, 2001 at
Cox-Martin Funeral Home. Funeral service 8 p.m. Thursday January 4, 2001 in
the chapel of Cox-Martin Funeral Home with Rev. Moss Beets and Rev. Archie
Seiber officiating. Interment 10 a.m. Friday January 5, 2001 at Norris
Memorial Garden in Norris, Tenn. Cox-Martin Funeral Home in charge of
arrangements.

VICKERY, BLANCHE EVELYNE - age 78, of Lake City, Tenn., passed away
Wednesday, January 3, 2001, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge, Tenn.
She was a member of the Holiness Church of Briceville. She was a loving
mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved her tomato garden, her
peppers and garlic. She loved to visit on her front porch with her friends
from Briceville. Blanche is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and
Willie Pittman Williams; granddaughter, Lynn White; grandson, Michael Wayne
Braden; son-in-law, Michael Kubek; sister, Betty Sue Estremera; brothers,
Dowell, Spencer, Blaine and Charlie Frank Williams. Survivors: daughters,
Evelyn Kubek of Cleveland, Ohio, Jean Glenna Faye Braden and husband, C. L.
of Briceville, Linda Sue Vickery of Parma Heights, Ohio, Brenda Marlene
Braden and husband, Eddie of Briceville, and Willie Joe "Jodie" Woodward and
husband, Jim of Lake City; brothers, Joe Richard Williams, Jr. and wife, Faye
of Lake City and Delbert Williams of Clinton; sisters, Jerry Nance of Lake
City and Judy White and husband, Jim of Crossville, Tenn.; 16 grandchildren;
26 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Special neighbors, the
Hatmakers and a host of other friends and relatives. The family will receive
friends Thursday, January 4, 2001, from 6-8 p.m. at Holley-Gamble Funeral
Home in Lake City. Funeral service will follow at 8 p.m. in the Chapel with
the Rev. Jim Woodward and Rev. Tony McAfee officiating. Interment will be
Friday, January 5, 2001, at 1 p.m. at Circle Cemetery in Briceville, Tenn.
Holley-Gamble Funeral Home, in Lake City, in charge of all arrangements.

WALLACE, MARY FRANCES - age 82, Oak Ridge, died at Briarcliff Health Care
Center on Wednesday, January 3, 2001. Survivors: brothers, William Spence
Wallace and David Hardin Wallace and wife, Virginia Josephine "Jo" all of Oak
Ridge, Tenn. Funeral service will be held in the chapel of Weatherford
Mortuary on Friday, January 5, 2001, 7 p.m. with Mr. Harold Scott
officiating. Graveside service will be on Sat. noon at Hamilton Memorial
Gardens, Chattanooga. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Tennessee
Children's Home, 4638 Chambliss Ave. Knoxville, Tenn. 37950. The family will
receive friends on Friday evening 5-7 p.m. at Weatherford Mortuary, Oak
Ridge, Tenn.
