CALDWELL, ELIHUE - age 82, of 155 Davis Rd., LaFollette, passed away Friday,
November 17, 2000, at the LaFollette Medical Center. Mr. Caldwell was a
member of the Ivey Dale Church of God. He loved to farm and play bingo.
Preceded in death by parents, Benjamin and Birdie Sailor Caldwell. Survivors:
sons and daughters-in-law, James and Marlene Caldwell of Indianapolis, Ind.,
Perry and Carol Caldwell and Leonard and Sharon Caldwell, all of Flint,
Mich.; daughters and sons-in-law, Bobbie and Chuck McClain of Mt. Morris,
Mich., Dora and Fred Harroid of Gainesville, Fla., Jackie and Randy Litteral,
of Clio, Mich.; brother, Tommy Caldwell of Caryville; 19 grandchildren and 15
great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives
and friends. Funeral service 8 p.m. Monday, Martin Wilson Chapel, Rev. James
Adkins officiating. Interment 11 a.m. Tuesday, Peabody Cemetery. In lieu of
flowers, memorials may be made to the Campbell Co. Shriner Club. The family
will receive friends Monday 6-8 p.m. before the services at Martin Wilson

COLEMAN, FREDA GAIL - age 52, of Clinton, Tenn., passed away Saturday,
November 18, 2000, at her home. She attended the Clinton First Weslyan Church
in Clinton. She is preceded in death by her father, Bill Patterson and niece,
Paula Gale Moore. Survivors: daughters, Tosha and husband, Billy Seiber of
Oliver Springs, Tenn.; sons, Joey Smith of New York City, N.Y., Benny Dewayne
and wife, Cathy Phillips of Wartburg, Tenn., and Michael S. and wife, Sissy
Phillips of Oliver Springs, Tenn.; eight grandchildren; mother, Faye Carter
of Clinton, Tenn.; sister, Kay and husband, James Moore of Norris, Tenn.;
niece, Shelia and Kent Schults of Clinton, Tenn.; great niece, Wendey Cornett
of Clinton, Tenn.; great nephew, K. C. Schults of Lake City, Tenn. Funeral
service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, November 21, 2000, in the Holley Gamble
Chapel with Rev. Troy Keaton officiating. The family will receive friends
from 6-8 p.m. at Holley Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton. Holley-Gamble Funeral

DUNCAN, MR. ERNEST - age 76, of Foust Carney Rd., in the Claxton Community,
went to be with the Lord at 12:40 a.m., Sunday, November 19, 2000, at
Windwood Health Care Center. Mr. Duncan retired from Martin Marietta, Y-12 in
Oak Ridge in April 1986, where he had worked for 35 years. Born June 15,
1924, in Campbell County. He was the son of the late Issac and Rachel Ward
Duncan. He served with the 89th Division of Edgemoor Baptist Church and was a
former member and Deacon of Laurel Branch Baptist Church, where he was
ordained as a Deacon on Mother's Day in 1950. He was a member of the Alpha
Lodge #376 of Clinton. A former member of the Crystal Lodge #616 of
Briceville, where he served 3 years as Master. He was a member of Alpha
Chapter #223 of Clinton and Adoniram Council #114, Chavolier Commandory #21
of Oak Ridge. He served as County Chairman from 1971 to 1974 for Anderson
County In York Rite Masons. He was preceded in death by daughter, Gussie Ann
Duncan; parents, Issac and Rachel Ward Duncan; brother, Wilbert Duncan;
sister, Mae Osborne; sister-in-law, Joann Duncan, father and mother-in-law,
Preston and Maude Duncan. He and his wife, Reba June Duncan, by whom he is
survived, were married September 18, 1948. In addition to his wife of 52
years, he is survived by a son and wife, Lynn and Linda Duncan of Clinton;
daughter and husband, Sally and Michael Schultz of Clinton; grandson and
wife, Gregg and Lisa Duncan of Knoxville; great-granddaughter, Eliza Glenn
Duncan of Knoxville; brothers and wife, Hubert and Naomi Duncan of North
Port, Fla., Pearlie and Kay Duncan of Briceville, Clarence Duncan of
Briceville; sister-in-law, Faye Duncan of Lake City; several nieces, nephews,
cousins and a host of friends. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m.
Tuesday, November 21, 2000, at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton. Masonic
service will be 8 p.m. Tuesday at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home. Graveside
service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Norris Memorial Garden. Holley-Gamble

PESCE, NICHOLAS J. - age 84, of Oak Ridge. It is with great sadness that the
family announces the passing of a beloved husband, father and grandfather.
Mr. Pesce was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Oak Ridge. Mr. Pesce
was the retired owner of Nick Pesce Plumbing Co. for 25 years. He was a U.S.
Army Veteran of WWII, having fought in the Normandy Invasion and the Battle
of Bulge, and the surrender of Germany. He served on the Board of Plumbing
Examiners in Oak Ridge for 15 years. He loved spending time with his family
and playing cards with his friends. Born October 9, 1916, in Philadelphia,
Penn. to the late Michael A. and Calra Pesce. Preceded in death by his
brothers, Joseph, Michael, and Vincent, and a sister, Elvira. He leaves his
cherished memory to his wife, Marion Pesce of Oak Ridge; son, Mike Pesce of
Oak Ridge; daughters, Nancy Hoff & husband Chuck of Birmingham, Ala. and
Patti Pesce of Oak Ridge; grandchildren, Dale Skidmore of Colorado, Kristina
Pesce of Oak Ridge, & Justin Ward; brothers, Mike Pesce of New Jersey, Danny
& Dick Pesce of South Carolina; sisters, Jo Kearns, Pat Ray, & Lucy Cooper of
New Jersey, and many nieces & nephews. The family will receive friends from
6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2000, with a scripture and prayer service to
follow at 8 p.m. in the chapel of Martin Oak Ridge Funeral Home with Father
Michael Woods officiating. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at
Anderson Memorial Gardens with full military honors given by East Tennessee
Veteran Honor Guard. Martin Oak Ridge Funeral Home.
