CARRIE REBECCA ALRED, 73, of LaFollette, died Friday, November 3 at St.
Mary's Hospital. She was a member of West LaFollette Baptist Church, and
taught Sunday School for many years.
She was preceded in death by; parents, Clarence and Maude Duncan White;
brother, Ralph White; and sisters, Thelma Mason, and Margaret Ann White.
Survivors include; husband, Elmer E. Alred; daughters, Teresa Davis, and
Eugenia Manzella, both of Michigan; four grandchildren; eight grandchildren;
sisters, Mary Ruth Evans of Michigan; several nieces and nephews; and a host
of relatives and friends.Funeral services were held Monday, November 6 at
Martin Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Harold Robbins and Rev. Ray Siler
officiating. Interment followed in Woodlawn Cemetery.
LASSIE MAE BRANDENBURG, 100, of LaFollette, died Tuesday, October 31 at
LaFollette Nursing Home. She was a member of Walnut Grove Baptist Church. She
was preceded in death by; husband, George Brandenburg; son, Lloyd Everett
Brandenburg; daughter, Gladys Brandenburg; parents, Neap and Elvia Campbell
Savage; and sisters, Ventia Kitts, and Mary Wilburn. Survivors include; son,
Willie Brandenburg of LaFollette; daughters, Geneva Bolton, and Ruby Greca,
both of LaFollette, and Mildred Seiber of Oliver Springs; eleven
grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; eleven great-great-grandchildren;
and a host of relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Friday, November 3 at Martin Wilson Funeral Home
Chapel with Rev. Earl Powers and Rev. Pat Ayers officiating. Interment
followed Saturday , November 4 at 12 p.m. in Davis Cemetery.
KENNETY BRIDGES, 74, of Pioneer, died Thursday, November 2 at his home. He
was a member of the Love Devine Baptist Church of Norwood, Ohio. He was
preceded in death by; son, Stewart Bridges; parents, Dennie and Bertha King
Bridges; brothers, Ike, Everett, David, Odom, and Lendon; and sister, Zona
Norman. Survivors include; wife, Jeanetta Bridges of Pioneer; brothers,
Charles Bridges of Pioneer, and Ray Bridges of Florida; sisters, Julie
Norman, Flora Ivey, and Nora Terry, all of Pioneer, and Elma Botts of
Louisville, Kentucky; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were
held Saturday, November 4 at Martin Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev.
Damon Owens and Rev. Harold Norman officiating. Interment followed Sunday,
November 5 in Warren Memorial Cemetery.
JAMES O. COX, 94, of LaFollette, died Thursday, November 2 at LaFollette
Medical Center.
He was preceded in death by; daughter, Alma Streeter. Survivors include son,
Harold Cox of Mainesville, Ohio; daughter, Loraine Streeter of LaFollette;
seven grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; half-brithers, Frank
Cox, Everette Cox, Oscar Cox, Benny Cox, Wayne Cox, and Rev. Thelmore Cox;
and half-sisters, Dorothy Shaddrock, Marcille McNeely, and Tina Heatherly.
Funeral services were held Saturday, November 4 at Cross Funeral Home Chapel
with Rev. Thelmore Cox officiating. Interment followed in Meredith Cemetery
in Stinking Creek Community.
HAROLD MARLOW, 73, of LaFollette, died Monday, October 30 at LaFollette
Medical Center. He was a member of the LaFollette Church of God. He supported
three children through World Vision, was an usher church and helped with
ground beautification at his church, sponsored Indian Reservation and retired
United Auto Workers - local union #900. He was preceded in death by; parents,
Joseph and Jessie Hurst Marlow; and sister, Annie Jane Dickerson; and son,
Gene Marlow. Survivors include; wife, Geneva Martin Marlow; sons, David
Marlow, Keith Marlow, Kenneth Marlow, and Kevin Marlow, all of LaFollette;
daughters, Linda Gotts, and April Marlow , both of LaFollette; step-sons,
David Smith of LaFollette, and Gary Smith of Jacksboro; brothers, Albert
Marlow of Michigan, and Robert Marlow of LaFollette; sister, Evelyn Smith of
LaFollette; eighteen grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Funeral
services were held Wednesday, November 1 at LaFollette Church of God with
Rev. Kenneth Stevens officiating. Interment followed Thursday, November 2 at
12 p.m. in Chadwell Cemetery, White Oak. Martin Wilson Funeral Home of
LaFollette in charge of arrangements.
ELMER NELSONElmer Nelson, 64, of Newcomb, died Tuesday, October 31 at Jellico
Community Hospital. He was retired from Bell & Howell where he worked as a
mechanical engineer. He was preceded in death by; son, Glen Nelson; step-son,
Ricky Creekmore; parents, Alvin and Rose Levoie Nelson; brother, Kenneth
Nelson; and sister, Loraine Contois. Survivors include; wife Joyce Coker
Nelson; daughter, Kathy Bockman of Schaumburg, Illinois; grandsons, Matthew
Bockman, and Gregory Bockman, both of Schaumburg, Illinois; ; sisters,
Adeline Quinian, and Bonnie Nelson, both of Detroit, Michigan; and brother,
Dale Nelson of Marquette, Michigan. Funeral services were held Friday,
November 3 at Cox & Son Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Wayne Hedrick
officiating. Interment followed Saturday, November 4 in Douglas Cemetery.
IVGAN B. ROGBY, 92, of Circleville, Ohio, died Wednesday, October 25 at
Berger Hospital. He was a graduate of Maryland Institute of Art with a B. A.
degree, professor of Industrial Design, Pratt Institute, Brooklyn, N. Y., and
a veteran of the Army in WWII. He was preceded in death by; parents, Joseph
and Gilla Perkins Rigby; sisters, Katherine Rigby, and Josephine Harvey;
brothers, James Rigby, and Walter Rigby. Survivors include, sister, Pauline
Measamer of Circleville, Ohio; nieces and nephews, John Measamer, Katherine
Noordsij, Jo Helen Outlaw, Harvey Rigby, and several others. Funeral services
were held Saturday, October 28 at Defenbaugh Wise Funeral Home with Rev.
James Sands officiating. Interment followed with graveside service Monday,
October 30 in LaFollette Cemetery with Rev. Ray Graham officiating. Memorials
in Mr. Rigby's name may be made to Pickaway Manor Nursing Home, 391 Clark

WILLIAM DEBEA "Pap" SHARP, 95, of Claxton, died Monday, November 6 at St.
Mary's Residential Hospice Center. He was a 32 degree Mason of the LaFollette
Lodge #623 F & A M, the Knoxville Scottish Rite, the Kerbella Shrine Temple,
and a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. He was a retired Campbell County
business owner. He was preceded in death by; parents, Aaron and Sarah Reed
Sharp; brother, Hinton Sharp; and sister, Lassie Sharp Hill. Survivors
include; sons, Paul Sharp of Brookville, Ohio, and Bob Sharp of Claxton;
daughters, Charlotte "Polly" Best of Claxton, and Linda McCarty of Dayton,
Ohio; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two
great-great-grandchildren. A Masonic service was held Tuesday, November 7 at
Woodhaven Funeral Home with funeral services following with Rev. Charles
Parker officiating. Interment followed Wednesday, November 8 in Campbell
County Memorial Gardens. The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorial
donations may be made to St. Mary's Hospice, 7477 Andersonville Pike,
Knoxville, TN. 37938. The family would like to send a special thanks to the
staff of 3 West at Methodist Medical Center and St. Mary's Residential
Hospice.
ROBERT JOSEPH SNEED, 64, of Morristown, died Saturday, November 4 at
Morristown-Hamlin Hospital. He was of the Baptist Faith. He was preceded in
death by; parents, James and Lorene Sneed; and sons, Scott Sneed, and Gerald
Sneed. Survivors include; wife, Jean Sneed; daughters, Kathy Southerland of
Morristown, Brenda Parker, and Sherle O'Mary, both of Knoxville; sons, James
Robert Sneed of Newport, Robert Allen Sneed of Morristown, and Mike Sneed of
North Platt, Nebraska; brothers, James W. Sneed of California, Mark Sneed,
and Tim Sneed, both of Ohio; sisters, Barbara Jean, Donna Kay, and Margaret
Lynn, all of Ohio; eight grandchildren; and several special friends. Funeral
services were held Wednesday, November 8 at Mayes Mortuary Chapel with Rev.
Oscar M. Berry officiating. Interment followed in Hamblen Memory Gardens.
