JAMES ALBERT "Smiley" ANDERSON, 78, of Mountain Ash, Kentucky, died Sunday,
October 1 at Jellico Community Hospital. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy.
He was preceded in death by; parents, James Alvis and Haley Cox Anderson.
Survivors include; wife, Sudie Anderson; son, Gary L. Anderson of Crestview,
Florida; daughters, Diane Winger of Jacksonville, North Carolina, and Donna
Smith of Harrodsburg, Kentucky; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren;
brother, John Anderson of Woodburry, Tennessee; several nieces and nephews;
and a host of relatives and friends. Funeral services were held Wednesday,
October 4 at Cox & Son Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Harold Long, Rev. Lonnie
Bowman, and Rev. Russell Creekmore officiating. Interment followed in
Pleasant View Cemetery, Moses Addition.

LEOTHA FOTTA, 79, of LaFollette, died Tuesday, October 3 at LaFollette
Medical Center. She was preceded in death by; parents, Benjamin F. and Texie
Miller Smith; step-mother, Edna Walters Smith; sister, Mary Smith Bullock;
and brother, Dennis F. Smith. Survivors include; sister, Marcina Smith Myers
of Ohio; brothers, Irving Smith of Michigan, Truman Smith of Ohio, and
Cleadis G. Smith of LaFollette. Funeral services will be held Friday, October
6 at 2 p.m. at Roach Funeral Home with Rev. Leonard Dabney officiating.
Interment will follow in Smith Cemetery. the family will receive friends from
1 until 2 p.m. prior to the funeral services Friday.

GLADYS FOUST, 79, of Lake City, died Friday, September 29 at Methodist
Medical Center in Oak Ridge. She was preceded in death by; husband, Earl
Foust; parents, Square and Vera Leach Nance; step-father, Rev. Virgil
Johnson; brother, Edward Nance; and sister, Ruth Irene Nance. Survivors
include; sisters, Lona Roberts of Lake City, Juanita Dabney of Toledo, Ohio,
and Louise Hawkins of Menton, Ohio; several nieces and nephews; and a host of
relatives and friends. Funeral services were held Sunday, October 1 in the
Cox-Martin Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. George Miller officiating. Interment
followed Monday, October 2 in Island Ford Cemetery, Lake City.

ARCHIE GOINS, 72, of LaFollette, died Tuesday, September 26 at LaFollette
Medical Center. He was a member of LaFollette Masonic Lodge #623 F. & A. M.
He was a retired postal employee after 35 years at LaFollette Post Office. He
was preceded in death by; parents, James Thed and Phoebie Lumpkins Goins;
three brothers; and one sister. Survivors include; wife, Magdalene Robbins
Goins; sons, Marvin Goins, and Lynn Goins, both of LaFollette; three
grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brothers, Jack Goins of Sidney,
Ohio, Ray Goins of Columbus, Ohio; and sister, Claudia Walker of Sidney,
Ohio. Funeral services wee held Thursday, September 28 at Cross Funeral Home
Chapel with Rev. O. D. Hill and Rev. Bo Perkins officiating. Interment
followed Friday, September 29 in Campbell Memorial Gardens. Family requests
in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Long Hollow Missionary Baptist
church, P O Box 85, LaFollette, TN 37766.

MARGARET ELIZAVETH GRAY, 92, of LaFollette, died Monday, October 2 at
LaFollette Community Nursing Home. She was a member of LaFollette United
Methodist Church, LaFollette Garden Club, Delta Kappa Gamma, United Methodist
Women, Arkansas Teacher Association, and Tennessee Retired Teachers
Association. She was a graduate of LaFollette High School, attended
University of Tennessee, held a B. A. Degree from Centenary College of
Louisiana, and was a retired school teacher. She was preceded in death by;
husband, William R. Gray; an infant son; parents, Charles O. and Della Myers
Sharp; brothers, Henry, and Casper Sharp; and sisters, Emma Sharp, Louise
Sharp, and Edna Rule-Cherry. Survivors include; sister, Helen Sharp Long of
Riverdale, Georgia; brothers, Pat Kerr of LaFollette, and James L. Sharp of
Denison, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be
held today (Thursday), October 5 at 2 p.m. at LaFollette United Methodist
Church with Rev. Malcolm Wansley and Dr. Richard Long officiating. Interment
followed in Woodlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2
p.m. prior to funeral services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to
LaFollette United Methodist Church. Cross Funeral Home in charge of
arrangements.

WALTER A. MADON, 87, of Speedwell, died Wednesday, September 27. Funeral
services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, September 29 at Reece Valley Chapel.
Interment followed in Red Hill Cemetery, Speedwell. Reece Funeral Home in
charge of arrangements.

MAXINE MIRACLE, 57, of Speedwell, died last week. Funeral services were held
Wednesday, September 27 at Reece Valley Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Branscomb and
Rev. John Robinson officiating. Music by the Glory Road Boys. Interment
followed in the Ausmus Cemetery. Reece Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

JAMES VICTOR SELLERS, 73, of Jellico, died Thursday, September 28 at Baptist
Regional Medical Center in Corbin, Kentucky. He is survived by; brother,
Clifton R. Sellers of Dayton, Ohio; sisters, Dean Faust, Betty Kennedy, and
Shirly Daugherty, all of Daython, Ohio, Clara Sellers of Jellico, and Doris
Carr of Newcomb. Funeral services were held Tuesday, October 3 at Harp
Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jerome Walden officiating. Interment followed
in Douglas Cemetery.
