HENSLEY, HAROLD BRENTON - age 68, of Andersonville, passed away Wednesday,
September 20, 200, at Methodist Medical Center. He was a member of Red Hill
Baptist Church in Andersonville. He was a veteran of the United States Army
serving in the Korean War. He retired at Local #25 in Mich. as a
Superintendent Iron Worker. Preceded in death by parents, George S. and
Nellie Wyatt Hensley and brother, Jack Hensley. Survivors: wife, Kirsten
Hensley of Andersonville; daughters, Joan and husband, Ricky Graham of
Maryville, Lucille Hensley of Andersonville, Debra Gray of Andersonville,
Tammy and husband, Mark Lay of Clinton, Rachel Hensley of Santeandro, Calif.;
sons, Brent and wife, Shelly Hensley of Norris, Guy Hensley of Nashville,
Greg Hensley of Nashville; 15 grandchildren; sisters, Elizabeth and husband,
Paul Johnson of Birmingham, Ala. Geraldine Stooksbury of Andersonville,
Rosalee and John Alley of Norris; brother, Darrell and wife, Barbara Hensley
of Fenton, Mich.; several nieces and nephews.; step daughter, Karen and
husband, George Eno West Memphis, Ark.; step son, Jimmy Ezell of Richland,
Miss. The family will receive friends 1-2 p.m. Saturday, September 23rd at
Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton with funeral services following 2 p.m.
with Rev. Donnie Disney. The interment will follow at Red Hill Baptist Church
Cemetery. Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton in charge of arrangements.
HUGHES, JOHN FRANK - 68, of Clinton, formerly of Jacksboro, passed away
Thursday morning at his home. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict and a
retired machinist from the Y-12 Plant in Oak Ridge. Preceded in death by
parents, James Wallace and Melissa (Wells) Hughes. Survivors: son, John Frank
Hughes, Jr., Clinton; sisters, Ann Adkins, Jacksboro, Margaret Louise
Summers, Andersonville, Wilma Jackson, Jacksboro. Family and friends will
meet at 10 a.m. Saturday, September 23, at Jacksboro Cemetery for graveside
services and interment. Dr. Charles Parker officiating. Arrangements by Cross
Funeral Home.
MORTON, SAMUELLA McTEER - age 80 of County Club Road LaFollette passed away
Thursday morning, September 21, 2000 at the LaFollette Medical Center. She
was a member of Demory Baptist Church and the Cumberland Mountain Eastern
Star Chapter 137. Samuella had retired from the LaFollette Medical Center
where she was a Licensed Practical Nurse. She was preceded in death by her
husband, Albert Morton; parents, S.H. and Ada Trotter McTeer. She is survived
by sons and daughters in law, Calvin & Christine Morton and Edward & Vijaya
Morton all of LaFollette; grandchildren, Calvin Odell Morton, Marsha Elkins,
Suzannne O'Rourke, April Morton, Emily Shoun and Kathy Wolfe; 6 great
grandchildren; sister, Georgia Tittsworth of Blount County, Tenn.; and a host
of other relatives and friends. Funeral services 2 p.m. Saturday September
23, 2000 at Demory Baptist Church with Rev. Conley Shepherd officiating.
Interment will follow in Pond Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-8
p.m. Friday September 22, 2000 at Martin Wilson Funeral Home. Martin Wilson
Funeral Home of LaFollette in charge of arrangements.
MAY, MR. ROBERT C. (R.C.) - age 70, of Pilot Mt. Community, passed away
Tuesday, September 19, 2000 in the Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. He
was a member of the Pilot Mt. Missionary Baptist Church. He was also retired
from the US Air Force. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Hazel
Stringfield May; daughters, Phyllis Mutz and husband, Larry of the Pilot Mt.
Community, and Patricia Barnes and husband, Tom of Wartburg; son, Phil May
and wife, Theresa of Chesterfield, Mich.; ten grandchildren; and four great
grandchildren; sisters, Loyce Kubas of Harriman, and Shirley Cupp of
Knoxville. Funeral services will be held Thursday 8 p.m. Schubert Funeral
Home Chapel, Wartburg with Rev. Charles Webb and Rev. Joe Copeland
officiating. Graveside services will be held Friday, 11 a.m. in Lane Cemetery
will full military honors. The family will receive friends Thursday evening
from 6-8 p.m. Schubert Funeral Home, Wartburg.
