DANIELS, CLARA LEE - age 72, of Clinton, passed away Sunday, August 27, 2000,
a the Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge. She was a member of Charity
Baptist Church. She enjoyed country music and loved going to Dollywood. She
was a loving wife, mother & grandmother. Preceded in death by first husband,
Leroy Breeden; parents, Leroy & Margaret Louise Taylor Fox; brothers, Robert
& Edward Fox. Born February 28, 1928 in Anderson County. Survivors: Husband,
Bill Daniels of Clinton; Daughter: Donna Ham & husband, Ralph of Clinton;
Sons: Timothy Leroy Breeden of Clinton, Ray Daniels of Clinton;
Grandchildren: Calvin Cooper, Elisa Belcher, Gracie Cooper, Holly Ham,
Ashley, Tina, Kim & Samantha Breeden; Great-grandchildren: Emily & Brandon
Cooper, Elaine Belcher; Sisters: Pearl Emmert & husband, Sam of Knoxville,
Edna Liles & husband, Max of Clinton, Kathleen Fox of Clinton, Joyce Stevens
& husband, Charles of Chocota, OK, Brenda Lindsay & husband, Bob of Clinton,
Patricia Daniels & husband, Earl of Knoxville, Sally Messamore of Kodak,
Mildred Ruth & husband, Don of Butler, PA; Brothers: James R. Fox & wife,
Naomi of Sacramento, CA, Franklin Fox & wife, Sue of Clinton; several nieces,
nephews & a host of friends. Special friends: Pat Breeden of Clinton, Tony &
Kathy Reed of Clinton, Tommy Cooper of Burleson, TX. The family will receive
friends 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 30th, at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home
in Clinton with funeral service following at 8:00 p.m., in the chapel with
Rev. Chris Thomas & Rev. Charles Cook officiating. Interment will be held
2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 31st, at Grandview Memorial Gardens, Holley-Gamble
Funeral Home of Clinton in charge of all arrangements.

DAVIS, DAVID ALLAN - age 53, of Clinton, passed away Friday, August 25,2000.
Born in Glendale, CA, David became a contractor at the age of 19 and
subsequently operated a Home Improvement company in Burbank, CA. He moved to
the Knoxville area in 1978, where he started Colonial Construction, Building
homes in the Farragut area. He most recently created Net-A-Car, a successful
internet company specializing in special interest vehicles. Most know David
as an avid car collector with a passion for restoring classic cars. Preceded
in death by his mother, Evelyn I. Giddens and Father, Hugh L. Davis. Survived
by his wife Jolene Davis of Knoxville; son: Brian J. Davis of Knoxville;
daughter: Jennifer E. Davis of Asheville, NC; brothers: Maynard N. Davis of
Burbank, CA and Dr. C. Stephen Davis of Chapel Hill, NC; Aunts Ruby Prater of
Knoxville and Edythe Dudley of York, PA; nieces: Catherine E. Lloyd of
Valencia, CA and Carrie M. Sherman of Moorpark, CA and many great nieces and
nephews. Memorial Services will be held Thursday August 31, 2000 at Farragut
Christian Church, 138 Admiral Road, 966-5224. The family will receive friends
at 5:00 with services beginning at 6:00. Dr. Tommy Smith, Senior Minister
officiating. Memorials can be made to the Spinal Cord Society, 19051 County
Hwy 1, Fergus Falls, MN 56537-7609. Please specify to whom the donation is in

LOOPE, DONALD WILSON - age 83, of New Tazewell, TN. Born January 2, 1917,
passed away on August 28, 2000 at Claiborne Nursing Home. He was preceded in
death by his wife, Maggie Heath Loope, parents, Albert & Lena Thacker Loope,
sisters, Edith Meyers, Alta Mae Sandefur; brothers, Grover and William Riley
Loope. Survived by: Daughter & Son-in-law: Priscilla & Bill Hutra; 2
Granddaughters: Gail Hutra of Monroe, MI, Melinda Hutra of Columbus, OH;
Sister: Jewell Keck; Brother: James H. "Cotton" Loope; Special Friend: Maxie
Meyers all of New Tazewell, TN; several nieces, nephews and a host of other
relatives and friends. The family will receive friends 2-9, Thursday at Rupp
Funeral Home in Monroe, Michigan. Funeral Service 11:00 Friday, Sept. 1, 2000
at Rupp Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Woodland Cemetery in MI. In
lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be made to the Hungry Ministry
or Thompson Chapel United Methodist Church. Funeral Services: 8:00 PM,. Tues.

POWERS, JACK WADE, SR. - age 78, of Oak Ridge, passed away Monday, August 28,
2000, at The Methodist Medical Center. Mr. Powers was retired from Union
Carbide at the Y-12 Plant in Oak Ridge. He was born February 3, 1922 in
Birmingham, Alabama to the late Louis Lanford and Ethel Mae Pear Powers. He
is also preceded in death by 1 brother and 3 sisters. Survivors: Wife, Doris
D Powers of Oak Ridge; Son: Jack Wade Powers, Jr., and wife Janie of Hampton,
GA; Daughter: Annette Powers of Oak Ridge; 2 grandchildren. Graveside
services will be Wednesday, August 30, 2000 at 11:00 AM at Oak Ridge Memorial
Park with Rev. Clarence Byrd officiating. The family will receive friends
from 6-8 Tuesday night at the funeral home. McCarty-Martin Oak Ridge Funeral
Home in charge of arrangements.

RHEA, JOHN WESLEY "WES" - age 88, of Lake City, passed Sunday, August 27,
2000, at the Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge. He was a member of Clear
Branch Baptist Church. Mr. Rhea was a Sergeant in the United States Army
during WWII, in the 120th AAA Battalion. His tour of duty included the
Battles of Normandy, Northern France & Central Europe. He received numerous
medals and commendations including five bronze stars, E.A.M.E. Theatre
ribbon, American Theatre ribbon, good conduct medals, a pin for his
participation at the White Cliffs of Dover, and the Bronze Star Medal. He
enjoyed sharing his experiences and memories of his military services. He
enjoyed gardening, church activities and spending time with his family. He
was a very kind hearted & generous friend to all and an enemy to none. A well
respected member of the community, he enjoyed helping his family, friends and
neighbors any way he could. Preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary
Magdalene Rhea in February, 1999; parents, David Jeheu & Florence Carden
Rhea; brothers, Elmer, Alvin & Frank Rhea; a brother in his youth and
sisters, Versa Murphy and Myrtle Rhea. Survivors: Daughters: Mickie Rhea
McBee of Oak Ridge, Sandra Kay Rhea of Lake City, Annette Rhea Prewitt &
husband, Marvin of Clinton; Grandsons: Bobby Clark Prewitt & wife, Sherry of
Clinton, Wesley Scott McBee of Oak Ridge; Great-Grandchildren: Mary Elizabeth
& Alex of Clinton; Numerous nieces, nephews & a host of friends. The Rhea
family wishes to extend a special thanks to special friend, Roscoe Martin of
Lake City, Dr. Hal Hughes & the East Tennessee Pulmonary Group of Oak Ridge
and the Methodist Medical Center, 5th floor nurses who cared for their father
during his illness. The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday,
August 29th, at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Lake City with funeral service
following at 8:00 p.m. in the chapel with Rev. Rick Teague officiating.
Interment will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 30the, at Leach Cemetery
with full military honors conducted at graveside by the East Tennessee State
Veterans Honor Guard. Holley-Gamble Funeral home of Lake City in charge of
all arrangements.
