DUNCAN, MARGUERITE A. - age 74, of West Ash Street LaFollette passed away
Wednesday, August 23, 2000 at the LaFollette Medical Center. She was a member
of West LaFollette Baptist Church. Marguerite enjoyed working in her flowers
and talking with friends and family. She was preceded in death by her
parents, Charlie and Mary Williams Tonoli; 1 brother and 1 sister. She is
survived by her husband of 52 years, Billy Duncan of LaFollette; brothers in
law, & sisters in law; several nieces and nephews and a host of other
relatives and friends. Funeral services 8 p.m. Friday August 25, 2000 in the
Chapel of Martin-Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. Hobart McCreary and Bro. Carl
Bradshaw officiating. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday before
services. Interment 11 a.m. Saturday, August 26, 2000 in Woodlawn Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Campbell
County Cancer Assoc., c/o Clarence Lowe, Treasurer, 124 Woodvine Street
Jacksboro, Tenn. 37757. Martin-Wilson Funeral Home of LaFollette in charge of
arrangements.
RAPER, JOE KENNETH - age 75, of Oak Ridge died at the Baptist Health Care
Center in Lenoir City on Wednesday August 23, 2000. Retired Supervisor/
Martin Marietta Energy System; Y-12. Veteran of WWII serving with the US
Army. Member of Robertsville Baptist Church. Survivors include, wife, Bobbie
Newman Raper, Oak Ridge; daughters, Dianne Henry and husband, Paul,
Brookfield, Conn., Teresa Presley, Knoxville; brothers, Wilson Raper,
Knoxville, Jay Raper, Fla., Dee Raper, Englewood, Tenn.; sisters, Cora Lee
Barnett and Lucille Newman both of Englewood and Bonnie McMillan of Ala.; 3
grandchildren, Jennifer Golembeske and husband, Gary, New Milford, Conn. and
Mallory and Jamie Presley, Knoxville; several nieces & nephews. Funeral
services are Saturday, August 26, 2000 at Weatherford Mortuary at noon with
Dr. Michael Prince officiating. Interment to follow at Oak Ridge Memorial
Park. Memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Assoc. Eastern Tenn. Chapter, 600
Henley St. Suite 50, Knoxville, Tenn. 37902 or to Making Things Happen,
Robertsville Baptist Church, 251 Robertsville Baptist Church, Oak Ridge,
Tenn. 37830. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 10 a.m. until
noon at Weatherford Mortuary Oak Ridge.
RIDENOUR, CHARLIE ANDREW - age 91, of Andersonville, formerly of Norris,
passed away Wednesday, August 23, 2000, at the Methodist Medical Center in
Oak Ridge. He was a member of Red Hill Baptist Church. He was a United States
Army Veteran, who served in World War II. He retired from the Norris
Tennessee Valley Authority Lab in the Maintenance Department. Preceded in
death by parents, Jim and Honie Jones Ridenour; sisters, Bessie Goins and
Christine Oaks; brothers, Ottis and Oscar Ridenour. Born January 29, 1909, in
Anderson County. Survivors: wife, Lorene Ridenour of Andersonville; son, Doug
Ridenour and wife Betty of Andersonville; grandson, Scott Ridenour and wife
Angela of Andersonville; sisters, Dellie Manuel of Flint, Michigan, Adline
Hill of Andersonville, Dorothy Hill of Heiskell, and Gracie Hillon of
Clinton; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m.
Friday, August 25, at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton with funeral
service following at 8 p.m., in the chapel with Rev. Donnie Disney
officiating. Interment will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, August 26, at Norris
Memorial Gardens. Holley-Gamble Funeral Home of Clinton in charge of
arrangements.
SCOGIN, LOUISE G. - age 79, of Oak Ridge, passed away August 21, 2000 at her
residence. Mrs. Scogin was a member of the Central Baptist Church in Oak
Ridge. She was a retired secretary with the Engineering Department of Union
Carbide in Oak Ridge. A member of the Professional Secretaries International
(PSI). She enjoyed golfing, reading, Tennessee football/basketball, and the
Atlanta Braves baseball. Born September 24, 1921 in Dalton, Ga. to the late
Henry O. and Perlie Mae Stephens Gresham. Survivors: husband, Jon G. Scogin
of Oak Ridge; son, Errol G. Scogin of Kingston, Tenn.; daughter, Elaine Jones
of Knoxville; grandchildren, David Scogin of Kingston, Tenn., Samuel Plemdons
of Knoxville, Sherry Plemdons of Knoxville; brothers, Henry Gresham of
Athens, Ga., Reese Gresham of Marietta, Ga.; great grandson, Benjamin Scogin.
There will be a graveside service Friday August 25, 2000 at 10 a.m. at Oak
Ridge Memorial park with Dr. Roy Graves officiating. McCarty-Martin Oak Ridge
Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
