REED, DELL C. - age 84, of Lake City, passed away Friday, August 4, 2000 at
his home. He was born August 31, 1915 in Campbell County, Tenn. He attended
the Island Ford Baptist Church. He loved fishing, gardening, traveling, and
visiting his friends, and loved everyone he came in contact with. He retired
from Y-12 in Oak Ridge with 37 years of service. He is preceded in death by
his parents, James Franklin & Mary Jane Lindsay Reed, first wife, Mabel
Hatmaker Reed; daughter, Brenda Sue Reed, and an infant daughter. Survivors;
wife, Ada Daugherty Reed, Lake City; daughters & sons in law, Linda & Wayne
Woods, Clinton, Wilma and Wayne Thompson, Cherry Bottom; daughter, Geraldine
(Jean) Snow Jacksboro; son & daughter in law, Gary & Marcella Reed,
Jacksboro; step children, Sylvia Roach, Clinton, Mary Ellison, Lake City, Joe
& Dorothy Halcomb, Lake City, Bill Halcomb, Lake City, Clyde Burris, Jr.,
Briceville, Tommy Burris, Andersonville; sister, Vivian Richardson,
Jacksboro; half sister, Ruth Eden, Springfield, Tenn.; 11 grandchildren; 12
great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives, friends, and loved ones.
Visitation 6-9 p.m. Sunday, August 6, 2000 at Cox-Martin Funeral Home,
funeral service 2 p.m. Monday, August 7, 2000 at the Macedonia Baptist Church
with the Revs. Charles Harness, Paul Hunley, and Bill Hicks officiating.
Interment to follow funeral service at the Macedonia Cemetery in Jacksboro.
