BEETS, VAUDRY GENE, SR., - age 66, of Clinton, passed away Sunday, June 25,
2000 at the Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge. He was a United States
Navy veteran who served in the Korean Conflict. Preceded in death by parents,
Carl & Margaret Collins Beets. Born December 23, 1933 in Knox County.
Survivors: son, Vaudry Gene Beets, Jr. of Knoxville; daughters, Sherra Beets
of Knoxville, Renee Jenkins of Knoxville; brothers, Tim & Linda Beets of
Knoxville, Don & Judy Beets of Davie, Florida; sister, Carol & Clark Courtney
of Clinton; 4 grandchildren; several nieces & nephews. The family will
receive friends 7:00-8:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 28, 2000 at Holley-Gamble
Funeral Home in Clinton with funeral service following at 8:00 p.m., in the
chapel with Rev. Calvin Braden officiating. Interment will be held 10:30
a.m., Thursday, at Sunset Cemetery. Holley-Gamble Funeral Home of Clinton in
charge of all arrangements.

BULLOCK, FRED LEON, - age 86, of LaFollette, passed away Sunday evening, June
25, 2000 at LaFollette Medical Center. He was a member of First Independent
Missionary Baptist Church and a U.S. Army veteran of WWII. Preceded in death
by parents, John Leon and Emma Davis Bullock; brothers, Luther Bullock,
Charlie Bullock, Everett Bullock; and sister, Ethel Milton. Survivors: wife,
Barbara Marion Bullock, LaFollette; son, Von L. Bullock, LaFollette;
daughters, Shirley Hatmaker, LaFollette, Sue Powers, Jacksboro;
granddaughter, Natalie Higginbotham; sister, Vivian Harper, Beckley, W.Va.;
and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services 1 p.m. Wednesday,
June 28, at Cross Funeral Home. Bro. Carl Bradshaw officiating. Interment
Campbell Memorial Gardens with military honors by Campbell County Honor
Guard. The family will receive friends 6 til 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 27, at
Cross Chapel. Arrangements by Cross Funeral Home.
