BAILEY, ANNA MARGARET - age 57, of LaFollette, passed away Monday, June 19,
at LaFollette Medical Center. She operated Ann's Beauty Salon and enjoyed
sewing, quilting and singing. Preceded in death by parents, Esker & Ilenia
Guy Bailey; brother, Ernest David Bailey. She attended Huntsville Praise &
Worship Center. Survivors: brother, Herbert Lee Bailey, Louisville, Ky.;
sister, Vivian June Shoffner, LaFollette; nieces & nephews, Leigh Ann Sipos,
Greg & David Shoffner, & Regina Bailey; 4 great nieces & nephews; aunt,
Dorcas Thomas, LaFollette. Funeral service 8 p.m. Thursday Cross Funeral
Chapel, Rev. Ralph Combs officiating. Interment, 11 a.m. Friday Campbell
Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Cross
Funeral Home. Arrangements by Cross Funeral Home

BEELER, EDITH ESTHER - age 93 of Clinton, passed away Monday June 19, 2000,
at the Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge. She was a member of Clinton
First Baptist Church. She worked at Queener Flower Shop in Clinton and also
at Hoskins Drug Store. Preceded in death by husband, Curtis Beeler;
daughters, Iris Tomlinson & husband, Bowman, Joyce Heuber & husband, Paul;
parents, Fred & Lena Hendrix Norman; sisters, Danna Curmutt & Freddie
Queener; brothers, Mark & Jim Norman. Born April 23, 1907 in Anderson County.
Survivors: daughters, Jean King & husband, Bob of Clinton, Gail Bailey &
husband, Al of Powell; sons, Ted Beeler & wife, Elizabeth of Hartford, Ky.,
Laverne Beeler & wife, Margaret of Clinton, William Beeler & wife, Jean of
Clinton; 17 grandchildren; 37 great grandchildren; & 4 great-great
grandchildren. The family will receive friends 6-8:30 p.m. Wednesday, June
21, 2000 at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton with funeral service
following at 8:30 p.m. in the chapel with Rev. Sam Dean & Rev. Paul Frick
officiating. Interment will be held 10 a.m. Thursday at Sunset Cemetery.

Tenn. 37717. Holley-Gamble Funeral Home of Clinton in charge of all
arrangements.

BUTLER, RICHARD - 84 of Oak Ridge died Monday, June 19, 2000 at the Methodist
Medical Center. He was born November 27, 1915 in Watertown, Tenn. to parents,
James A. and Ida Piper Butler. Mr. Butler lived in Oak Ridge from the early
40's until 1954 when he moved to the Karns area and then moved back to Oak
Ridge in 1984. He served with the Tennessee National Guard. He retired as
Foreman in 1975 from Union Carbide Corp/Y-12. He is a member of Trinity
United Methodist Church, Faith Masonic Lodge #756 and the Dyllis Eastern
Star. Preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Butler in 1995. Survived by:
son, Richard A. Butler and wife, Jody of Knoxville; daughter, Ginny Griffith
and husband, Gayle of Paris, Tenn.; 2 grandchildren, Richard Alan Butler of
Knoxville and John Mark Lee of Paris, Tenn. there will be a Masonic Service
on Wednesday June 21, 2000 at 8 p.m. followed by the funeral service at 8:15
p.m. at Weatherford Mortuary with Dr. Charles Matteson officiating. Graveside
services are Thursday, June 22, 2000 at 10 a.m. at Oak Ridge Memorial Park.
Memorials may be made to the Trinity United Methodist Church, 320
Robertsville Road, Oak Ridge, Tenn. 37830. The family will receive friends on
Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at Weatherford Mortuary.

COX, JAMES E. - age 77, of Clinton, passed away Monday, June 19, 2000, at
Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge. He was a member of Clinton First
Baptist Church. He retired from Martin Marietta as an Electrical Engineer. He
was a member of Oak Ridge Elk Lodge #1684 and also a member of American
Legion Post #2 in Knoxville. He was a United States Army veteran who served
in World War II. Preceded in death by wife, Edna McGill Cox; parents, John &
Margaret Cox; sister, Margaret Diggs, born February 1, 1923 in Anderson
County. Survivors: daughter, Deborah Cox & husband, Steven Burt of Daly City,
Calif.; son, James "Ed" Cox, Jr. of Washington, D.C.; beloved best friend,
Edith Hurtt of Clinton; sister, Fran Smith of Knoxville; several beloved
nieces, nephews & other beloved family members. The family will receive
friends 7-9 p.m. Thursday, June 22, 2000, at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in
Clinton. Graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, June 23, 2000
at Sunset Cemetery with Rev. Sam Dean & Rev. Paul Frick officiating. in lieu
of flowers, memorials may be made to Clinton First Baptist Church, P.O. Box
268, Clinton, Tenn. 37717 or Salvation Army 409 North Broadway, Knoxville,
Tenn. 37917. Holley-Gamble Funeral Home of Clinton in charge of all
arrangements.

WOODS, WILLIE H. - age 77 of Lake City passed away Tuesday, June 20, 2000 at
the St. Mary's Medical Center in Knoxville. He was a loving husband and
father, he loved playing music in several churches where he visited. He was a
member of High Street Baptist Church in LaFollette. He was a retired coal
miner from Spradling Coal Company in LaFollette. Preceded in death by
parents, George and Annie Ward Woods. Survivors: wife, Wilma Stover Woods, of
Lake City; daughters, Peggy and husband, Andrew Jones of Powell, Tenn.; step
daughter, Peggy and husband, Joe Austin Smith; grandchildren, Becky Clabough,
Susan Meridieth and Justin Jones; great grandchildren, Whitney and Will
Barnes; step grandsons, Eddie and Robbie Nelson, of Lake City; sister, Mary
Marlow, of LaFollette; brother, Alvin J. and wife, Ina Jewell Woods of Ill.
The funeral service will be Wednesday, June 21, 2000 at 8 p.m. at the
Holley-Gamble Funeral Home Chapel in Lake City with Rev. Johnny Rains
officiating. The family will receive friends 6:30-8 p.m. Wednesday at the
funeral home. The interment will be 1 p.m. Thursday June 22, 2000 at Bakers
Forge Cemetery in LaFollette. Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Lake City in
charge of all arrangements
