Can anyone on the list help me with this family? George RAINS was born
24 October 1812 and Jane G. SHARP was born 25 January 1817, probably in
Campbell or Union Counties, TN. They married about 1828 (yes, we
believe she was only 12) and lived in the area until about 1834 when
they went to Missouri (Bates County). At the time they left, they had
at least 3 and maybe four children. These children were Eliza b. 1829,
James Alfred b. 27 March 1830, Martha b. abt 1832 and Thomas abt. 1834.
These are the four oldest of their 15 children, the rest born in Bates
County, MO. I know nothing about the parents of George Rains or Jane
Sharp. George may have had a brother named Elias who was about 7 years
older. In Henry Co. MO, there might be some Sharps related to Jane. We
believe the parents of George Rains were originally from Randolph Co.
NC, but we don't have their names! I'd love some help!!!!!!!
