BURRIS, NORA ELIZABETH WALLACE - 53, of Andersonville, passed away Tues., May
30, 2000 at her residence. She was born Sept. 3, 1946 in Anderson County, Tn.
She is preceded in death by parents, Ulil Wallace & Agnes Poore Wallace;
sister, Kathy Jane Wallace; brother, Jerry Wayne Wallace. Survivors: devoted
husband for 36 years, Tommy Burris of Andersonville; daughter, Kathy & James
Rains of Andersonville; son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Sharon Burris;
grandchildren, Kayla Elizabeth Burris, Dylan Lee Rains and Dustin Wayne
Rains; sisters, Mary Maiden of Andersonville, Shirley & husband, Charles
Goodman, of Andersonville, Carol and husband, John Bruce, of Andersonville,
Lisa Farmer of Andersonville, Sharon husband, Homer Settles of Clinton,
Louise & John Swatzell of Lake City; several nieces and nephews. Funeral
services will be 1p.m. Thurs. June 1, 2000 at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home
Chapel with Rev. James McCoy & Rev. Jerald Hatmaker officiating. The family
will receive friends 7-9 p.m. Wed. at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton.
Interment will follow funeral services at McCarty Woodhaven in the Claxton
Community. Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton in charge.
MILFORD, MARY LOUISE DUTHIE - 85 of Knoxville, formerly of Oak Ridge, passed
away Sat. morning May 27, 2000 at Brakebill Nursing Home. May Lou was a
graduate of Iowa State University with a B.S. in Home Economics in 1939. She
taught school in Iowa and at West Hills Elementary in Knoxville. She later
tutored many students in her home in West Hills. Mary Lou was a resident of
Oak Ridge from 1944 to 1957, and was a member of First United Meth. Church.
She moved to Knoxville in 1957, and was an active member of Bearden United
Meth. Church. Mary Lou was preceded in death by her daughter, Joanne S.
Milford; parents, Vernon J. Duthie and Mary Estelle Campbell Duthie; brother,
Richard E.C. Duthie. Survivors: husband of 60 years, Robert P. Milford, Sr.;
son and daughter in law, Robert P. Milford, Jr. and Sarah G. Milford of
Knoxville; daughters and son in law, Marilyn Milford Cooley and Dr. Norvin R.
Cooley of Oregon City, Ore., Dianne E. Milford of Lauderhill, Fla.;
grandchildren, Andy Milford, Rachel Milford and Melissa Cooley; sister, Lois
C. Thomas of Knoxville. Memorial services 4 p.m. Fri. June 2, 2000 Bearden
United Meth. Church Dr. James S. Pollock officiating. The family will receive
friends immediately following the service. Interment will be in the Tenn.
State Veterans Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to
Alzheimer's Assoc. Eastern Tenn. Chapter, 600 Henley St., Suite 50 Knoxville.
Tenn. 37902, or to Bearden United Meth. Church, P.O. Box 11065, Knoxville,
Tenn. 37939-1065, and specify that the memorial gift is in memory of May Lou

WILLIS, GRACE - was granted eternal rest on Mon. May 29, 2000 at Briarcliff
Health Care Center in Oak Ridge, Tenn. She was born November 1, 1913 in
Sweetwater, Tenn. She was preceded in death by husband, Rev. Raymond L.
Willis; son, Edward C. (Fobe)Willis; granddaughter, Shelia (Willis) Davis;
mother & step father, Will and Laura (Fowler) Brown; sister, Ida Bell Willis
& Jossie Willis; brother, James Lenoir. She leaves to cherish her memory, son
& daughter in law, Raymond C. (June) and Flossie Willis of Knoxville,
daughter and son in law, Bonnie (Pat) & Gary Henderson of Oak Ridge; two
grandchildren she raised Charmaine & husband Fred Henderson of Oak Ridge,
Gregory & wife, Helen Willis of Knoxville; eleven granddaughters; eight
grandsons; twenty-two great grandchildren; thirteen great grandsons; eight
great-great grandchildren; sister, Vernice Willis of Clinton; brother in law,
Rev. C.L. Willis of Clinton; a host of nieces and nephews; special friends,
Susie Mae Willis, Mary Alice Willis, Audrey Daughterre,. Anna Mae Hale, and
Betsy Ellertson. Funeral services will be held 12 p.m. Sat., June 3, 2000 at
Mt. Sinai Bapt. Church in Clinton with Rev. William Caldwell & Rev. Reginald
Butler. The family will receive friends from 11-12 p.m. prior to the service.
The interment will follow at Mt. Sinai Bapt. Church Cemetery. Holley Gamble
Funeral Home in Clinton in charge.
