BLOEDAU, RICHARD KARL, JR. - of Oak Ridge, Tennessee, born March 10, 1946, to
Richard K. and Phyllis Kraus Bloedau, passed away Saturday May 6, 2000. He
was a Marine Corps Veteran. He proudly served a tour of duty in Vietnam,
where he attained the rank of Captain. He served as a field artillery Forward
Observer (combat decorated - Vietnam), battalion Operations Officer,
Embarkation Officer (decorated - Sixth Fleet), and Guard Officer, Marine
Barracks. Mr. Bloedau championed the honor and memory of POW/MIAs and
veterans. He was a graduate of Oklahoma City University and Tennessee Tech.
He established a scholarship fund over 15 years ago at Tennessee Tech to be
given yearly to a married engineering student. Mr. Bloedau was a registered
professional engineer and worked as a civil/structural engineer at Watts Bar
and Y-12 in Tennessee, Pantex in Texas, SRS in South Carolina, Wolf Creek in
Kansas, Plant Hatch and Plant Vogtle in Georgia, Ginna Station in New York,
Perry in Ohio, and Grand Gulf in Mississippi. He will be remembered for his
integrity, humor, generosity, graciousness, and courage. Preceded in death by
mother, Phyllis Kraus Bloedau; and brother, Milton Ray Bloedau. Survivors
include wife of 28 years Linda Bloedau; daughter and son-in-law, Katherine
and Brian Haney of Pittsboro, North Carolina; grandson, Richard Jerry "RJ"
Haney of Pittsboro, North Carolina; father, Richard K. Bloedau, Jr.; nephews,
A.J. and Gregory Condon of Westminister, Maryland; nieces, Erin and Kelley
O'Dell of Golden, Colorado; and a wide spread community of friends. A
celebration of life will be held 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 9, 2000, at
McCarty-Martin Oak Ridge Funeral Home. Military honors will be presented by
East Tennessee Veterans Honor Guards. In lieu of flowers the family request
that donations be made to the Richard K. Bloedau, Jr., Scholarship Fund, c/o
Civil/Engineering Department of Tennessee Tech., Box 5015, Cookeville, Tenn.
38505. The family will be available after the service to receive friends.

HOWE, JOHN WESLEY M.D. - of Knoxville, passed away May 7, 2000 at U.T.
Medical Center. Graduated from LaFollette High School, The University of
Tennessee, & U.T. Medical School. Member of Sigma Chi Fraternity & Knoxville
Academy of Medicine. Dr. Howe specialized in Obstetrics and Gynecology. He
served as Captain in the U.S. Air Force during the Cuban Missile Crisis.
Survived by wife of 41 years, Frances C. Howe; son, Curtis Howe, M.D. & wife,
Beth; daughter, Pace McCamy & husband, Jeff; 7 grandchildren, whose names are
Bogan McCamy, Jack McCamy, David Howe, Scotty Howe, Johnny B. McCamy, Sage
Howe, & Sam McCamy, all of Knoxville; mother, Virginia Wall Howe of Jefferson
Co. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to
Knoxville Union Rescue Mission, 511 N. Broadway, Knoxville, Tenn. 37917 or to
the Salvation Army, 409 N. Broadway, Knoxville, Tenn. 37917. A memorial
service will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Second Presbyterian Church, 2829
Kingston Pike. Dr. Arnold B. Lovell officiating. Arrangements by Weaver

PHILLLIPS, GOLDMAN MONROE "E.G." - age 72, of Dutch Valley, passed away
Sunday, May 7, 2000, at Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge. He was the son
of Joe & Mary Russell Phillips. He was a retired coal truck driver & enjoyed
Braves baseball. He enjoyed fishing & stock car racing. Preceded in death by
wife, Polly Ann Powell Phillips; daughter, Mary Sue Phillips; parents, Joe &
Mary Russell Phillips; grandson, Steven Daughtery. Survivors: daughter, Patsy
Linkes & husband, Allen of Clinton, Betty Hill & husband, Danny of
Andersonville, Sherry Burgess of Clinton; sons, Joe Phillips, James Phillips
& Johnny Phillips of Clinton; 13 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; 3
step-grandchildren; and 4 step-great-grandchildren; step-brothers & sisters,
Kyle Nation & wife, Marlene of Clinton, Fred Nation & wife, Mary of
Andersonville, Margie Wilder of Clinton, Wilma Jean Williams & husband,
Charlie of Clinton, Maudie Bell of Georgia; several nieces and nephews. The
family will receive friends 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 9th, at
Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton with funeral service following at 8:00
p.m., in the chapel with Rev. Jim Ault & Rev. Samuel Condon officiating.
Interment will be held 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, at Batley Baptist Church
Cemetery, Holley-Gamble Funeral Home of Clinton in charge of all
arrangements.
TUCK, GRACE WRINN - 83, of Oak Ridge, passed away Monday, May 8, 2000 in
Cumberland County. She and her husband of 64 years, Frank Stanely Tuck, who
preceded her in death, moved to Oak Ridge in 1948. She worked as a
hairdresser until age 48. Mrs. Tuck then pursued her life long ambition to
become a nurse. She served as a licensed practical nurse at Methodist Medical
Center until her retirement in 1987. She is also preceded in death by
parents, Michael and Ora Varner Wrinn; 2 brothers; and 2 sisters. Survivors
include 2 sons and their wives, Frank J. and Deborah Tuck of Crossville,
Thomas E. and Sandra Tuck of Knoxville; 8 grandchildren; and 7 great
grandchildren; sisters, Dora Watkins of Oak Ridge, Helen Estes of Sweetwater,
and Mattie Patterson Wise of Delaware. Funeral services 8:00 p.m. Wednesday,
May 10, 2000, McGill-Karnes Chapel with Rev. Daniel Mayes officiating.
Interment 11:00 a.m. Thursday in Corinth Cemetery. The family will receive
friends 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at McGill-Karnes Funeral Home, Loudon.
WILLIAMS, TROY, age 77, of LaFollette, died suddenly Saturday, May 6, 2000,
at his home. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII, Preceded in death by parents
Elisha and Rhoda Smith Williams; grandsons, Greg Williams and Colby Johnson
and brothers, Paul, Robert, Verlin and Thomas Franklin Williams. Survivors:
wife, Opal Bowlin Williams, LaFollette; Son, Phillip Williams, LaFollette;
Daughters, Anna Margaret Johnson, Briceville, Debra Kay Sharp, Seymour;
Grandchildren: Michael Robbins, Brandy Pierce Parker, Stephen Clark Pierce,
Felicia Williams, Justin Williams, Marissa Johnson; Great grandchildren:
Chase and Clay; Brothers: Clarence Williams of Florida, Elisha Williams of
LaFollette; Sisters: Elizabeth Barns, Azlee Goins, and Patsy Graves, all fo
LaFollette; and a host of Nieces and Nephews. Funeral services 11 a.m.
Wednesday, May 10, at Cross Funeral Home. Rev. Charles Wilson officiating.
Interment Williams Cemetery with Military Honors by Campbell County Honor
Guard. The family will receive friends 6 to o8 p.m. Tuesday, May 9, at Cross
