NOLAN, BUFORD NEAL - age 53, of the Claxton community, passed away Sunday
March 12, 2000 at the Methodist Medical Center. He was a member of Riverview
Baptist Church. He retired as Maintenance Supervisor for Lockheed Martin with
over 32 years of service at the Y-12 Plant in Oak Ridge. He was a member of
the Pipefitters Local Union #102 in Knoxville. Mr. Nolan was an avid
fisherman and many other sports. Preceded in death by father, Buford "Bill"
Nolan. He was born May 26, 1946 in Sevier County. Survivors: wife, Lou Ann
Nolan of Claxton; daughter, Suzette & Tim Frye of Oak Ridge; son, Eric Nolan
of Claxton; mother, Laura King Nolan of Claxton; sister, Sue & David McKenzie
of Claxton; mother-in-law, Eva Runge of Claxton; nephews, Brent & Patrick
McKenzie of Claxton, Timmy Runge of Knoxville; nieces, Danielle Runge, Gigi
and Marilyn Novella, all of Knoxville. The family will receive friends 5-8
p.m. Tuesday, March 14, 2000 at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton.
Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel with Rev. Don
Hensley officiating. Interment will follow in McCarty-Woodhaven Memory
Gardens in Claxton. Holley-Gamble Funeral Home of Clinton in charge.
SHARP, MRS. VIRGIE MCCULLEY - age 83, of LaFollette, passed away Monday,
March 13, 2000 at Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge. She was a member of
the Elm Grove Baptist Church and preceded in death by husbands, Verlin
McCulley and Henry Sharp; 1 son and 7 brothers. Survivors: children, Ben C.
McCulley, Arkie Brown, Minnie Thompson, Wilma Coil, Dolly Snyder, Molly Ivey,
Verlin McCulley, Jr., Bonnie Riggs, Nancy Glenn, Billie Ann Bolton, and Mary
Lee Hicks; 20 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; 3 sisters. Funeral
services Wednesday 11 a.m. at Walters Chapel with Rev. Eddie Hoskins and Rev.
Danny Riggs officiating. Interment Jones Cemetery. Family will receive
friends 6-9 p.m. Tuesday at Walters Funeral Home. Walters Funeral Home,
LaFollette, in charge of arrangements.
