BICE, CARL "C.R." RUSSELL JR. - age 68, of Clinton, passed away Thursday,
January 27, 2000 at his residence. He was a member of Farmers Grove Baptist
Church. He had worked as an excavator in the construction industry. He loved
fishing in his spare time. Preceded in death by first wife, Velma Jo May;
parents, Carl R. Bice, Sr., & Georgia Mae Whitlow Bice. He was born March 21,
1931. Survivors: wife of 48 years, Gladys Stewart Bice of Clinton; daughter,
Joan Robert & husband Stan of Clinton; son, Steve Bice & wife Alice Fay of
Heiskell; sisters, Bernice Loy & husband Cleveland of Oak Ridge, Ann Galloway
& husband Wade of Clinton, Jan Byrd & husband Don of Clinton; brothers, Paul
Bice & wife Marjorie of Clinton, Sam Bice & wife Brenda of Lake City, Bobby
Bice of Clinton, Jean Bice & wife Norma of Blue Ridge, Ga.; grandchildren,
Karla Steadman of Clinton, Russ Steadman of Clinton; step grandson, Ben
Roberts of Clinton; several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends. The
family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. Sunday, January 30, 2000 at
Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton. Funeral service 2 p.m. Monday, January
31, 2000 in the chapel of Holley-Gamble Funeral Home with Rev. Moss Beets
officiating. Interment will follow at the McCarty-Woodhaven Memory Gardens in
Clinton. Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in charge of all arrangements

DISNEY, WALLACE L. - age 76 of Harriman, passed away Friday, January 28, 2000
at home. Mr. Disney was born March 1, 1923 at Lake City, Tenn., served in the
US Navy during WWII from February 18, 1943 to May 16, 1946, was married on
March 2, 1956, was an active deacon and Sunday school teacher at the First
Baptist Church in Oneida, the Lake View Baptist Church in Harriman and the
Piney Baptist Church in Oakdale. He found great pleasure in working and
teasing children. Survivors: wife, Margaret Disney of Harriman; daughter,
Mary Clipson of Harriman; son, Jim E. Disney of Oakdale; 6 grandchildren.
Funeral 8 p.m. Monday at Kyker Funeral Home Chapel Harriman, Rev. Philip
Kazee officiating. Interment Leach Cemetery, Lake City, Tenn. at 2 p.m.
Tuesday. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday at Kyker
Funeral Home, Harriman.

DUNCAN, LESLIE RAY, JR. - age 44 of Maryville, formerly of Clinton, passed
away Thursday January 27, 2000, at his residence. He was owner & operator of
Timber Kraft Contracting in Sevierville, Tenn. He graduated from University
of Tenn. with a B.S. degree. He was very dedicated to his work. Preceded in
death by grandparents, Byrd & Melinda Duncan; aunt, Thelma Duncan & father in
law, Charles Berry. Survivors: wife, Charlene Barry Duncan of Maryville;
daughter, Abra Aleph Duncan of Maryville; parents, Leslie Ray Duncan, Sr., &
Ola Broyles Duncan of Clinton; brother, Timothy Duncan & wife, Katherine of
Andersonville; mother in law, Marie Berry of Alcoa; a host of friends. The
family will receive friends 1-2 p.m. Sunday, January 30, 2000, at
Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton with memorial service following at 2
p.m. in the chapel with Rick Turner officiating. Memorials may be made to the
American Cancer Society. Holley-Gamble Funeral Home of Clinton in charge of
all arrangements

WHITAKER, JUDY SWATZELL - age 51, of Clinton, passed away Thursday, January
27, 2000 at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. She was of the Baptist
faith. She was employed as a Tube Bender at Modine Manufacturing in Clinton.
Preceded in death by father, Paul Swatzell. Born September 20, 1948 in Knox
County to Paul and Ethel Pay Swatzell. Survivors: husband, Jim Whitaker of
Clinton; daughters, Deidre Whitaker of Clinton, Deborah Hembree & husband
Alex of Caryville; sons, James "Jimmy" Whitaker of Clinton, Jason Whitaker of
Clinton; mother, Ethel Swatzell of Lake City; brothers, Butch & Doris
Swatzell of Lake City, John & Louise Swatzell of Lake City; 7 grandchildren
and a host of friends. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Sunday,
January 30, 2000 at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton with funeral
service following at 8 p.m. in the chapel with Rev. Ronald Guthrie
officiating. Interment will be held 11 a.m. Monday, January 31, 2000 at Oak
Ridge Memorial Park. Holley-Gamble Funeral Home of Clinton in charge of all
arrangements.
