JONES, FLORINE BURNS - 77 Oak Ridge, died at her home on December 30, 1999.
Baptist faith. Preceded in death by husband, Claude "Jug" Jones, 12-18-1978.
Survivors include: sons, Danny Paul Arms and wife, Bobbie, Panama City, Fla.,
Michael Guy Jones, Oak Ridge; daughter, Linda Donald and husband, James, Oak
Ridge; 2 brothers; 2 sisters; 3 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; several
nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held in the chapel of Weatherford
Mortuary on Sunday Jan. 2, 2000 at 2 p.m. with Dr. Steve McDonald
officiating. Interment will be at Oak Ridge Memorial Park. The family will
receive friends Sunday Noon-2p.m. at Weatherford Mortuary, Oak Ridge.
PHILLIPS, CHARLES ELMER - age 81, of Clinton, passed away Thursday, December
30, 1999, at the Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge. He was a United
States World War II Veteran who was Honorably Discharged with a Purple Heart.
Charles drove a school bus for Anderson County Schools for 21 years. He owned
& operated Clinton Cab Company for 24 years until retirement in May 1980.
Preceded in death by parents, Inman & Creasie West Phillips; sisters, Nancy
Allen & Evelyn Thompson; brothers, Harvey & Leamon Phillips. Survivors: wife
of 58 years, Myrtle Overton Phillips of Clinton; son, Kyle Phillips & wife
Gail of Clinton; daughter, Norma Day & husband Glenn of Lake City; sisters,
Inzia Provenza & husband John of Knoxville; brothers, Ray Phillips of
Clinton, Conway Phillips & wife Peggy of Dayton, Ohio; granddaughters,
Meredith Zirkle & husband Chad of Clinton, Christy Day of Lake City;
grandsons, Caleb Day of Lake City, Daniel Phillips of Clinton; 4 great
grandchildren, Kathryn, Christopher, Carley, Kyle Zirkle; several nieces &
nephews. The family will receive 7-9 p.m. Saturday, January 1, 2000 at
Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m.
Sunday, January 2, 2000 in the chapel with Rev. Samuel Condon officiating.
Interment will follow in Sunset Cemetery. Holley-Gamble Funeral Home of
Clinton in charge of all arrangements.
