CAWOOD, MARGARET ELIZABETH - age 70, passed away Thursday, December 30, 1999,
at the Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge. She was a member of Deep
Springs Baptist Church. Born May 9, 1929 in Claiborne County. Survivors:
husband, Rev. Harrison H. Cawood of Heiskell; sons, Ronald Cawood of
Heiskell, Lynn Cawood & wife, Kim of Knoxville; daughter, Beverly Shipley of
Heiskell; mother, Cora Rucker Brewer of Heiskell; brothers, Gene Brewer &
wife JoAnn of Heiskell, R.J. Brewer & wife Ann of Pennsylvania, Jerry Brewer
& wife Judy of Marietta, Ga.; sister, Joyce Nolan of Heiskell; grandchildren,
Hope & Richard Shipley of Heiskell. Friends may call at their convenience at
Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton. Graveside service will be held 2 p.m.
Friday, December 31, 1999, at Sartin Cemetery. Holley-Gamble Funeral Home of
Clinton in charge of arrangements.

MEREDITH, JOHN EDWARD - age 79, of LaFollette, passed away Thursday morning
at V.A. Medical Center, Mountain Home. He was of the Baptist faith, combat
Veteran of WWII having received the Purple Heart. Lifetime member of DAV.
Preceded in death by parents, Tivis & Carrie Irwin Meredith & sister, Oral
Alexander. Survivors: wife of 49 years, Juanita Meredith of LaFollette;
brother, Tivis Meredith, Jr. of LaFollette; sisters, Joie Ols of Porter,
Ind., Willie Smith of LaFollette; special nieces, Kathy Hicks of Knoxville,
Stephanie Meredith of LaFollette; special nephew, David Meredith of Ohio;
several other nieces & nephews & other relatives & friends. Funeral service 3
p.m. Saturday Cross Chapel. Rev. Mark Partin officiating. The family will
receive friends 1-2 p.m. Saturday at Cross Funeral Home. Interment: Woodlawn
Cemetery with military honors by Campbell County Honor Guard. Arrangements by

WILSON, GENEVA TEAGUE - age 82, of Jacksboro, passed away Wednesday, December
29 at Oak Ridge Methodist Medical Center. She was a member of Jacksboro First
Baptist Church. Preceded in death by first husband Rogan Teague. Survivors:
husband, Woodrow Wilson of Jacksboro; son, Billy R. Teague of Newnan, Ga.;
daughters, Betty Miller of Jacksboro, Reda Housley of Fayetteville, Ga.; 10
grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; brothers, David Barker of McRoberts,
Ky., Edsel Barker of California, Jack Barker of Somerset, Ky., and Paul
Barker of Cincinnati, Ohio; sisters, Marie Bradley of Detroit, Mich., Opal
and Patsy Wilson of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Rita Nelson of Detroit, Mich.
Funeral services 8 p.m. Friday, December 31, at Cross Chapel. Rev. Clarence
Teague officiating. Interment 12 noon Saturday, January 1, at Campbell
Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday prior to

WOOD, MR. LESTER "ALLEN" - age 43, of LaFollette, passed away at 12:50 a.m.
Thursday, December 30, 1999 at Baptist Medical Center. Member of Forks Grove
Baptist Church. He is survived by wife, Lynn; daughter, Martina; son, Trevor;
step-daughter, Amanda Lynn Ivey; step-son, Kenneth Wayne Allen, Jr.; parents,
James and Collen Wood; brothers, Wayne and Ronnie Wood; along with a host of
other relatives and friends. Funeral service will be at 8 p.m. Friday at
Ailor's Chapel with Rev. Mark Kitts officiating. Interment at 2 p.m. Saturday
in Grainger Memorial Gardens. Relatives and friends will serve as
pallbearers. The family sends a special thank you to the nurses and staff of
the COU and ICU units at Baptist Medical Center for their care during Allen's
illness. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday at Ailor Mortuary,
Maynardville.
