LINDSAY, CARL - age 92, of Jacksboro, passed away Saturday afternoon,
December 25, 1999 at LaFollette Medical Center. He was a member of Jacksboro
First Baptist Church. Preceded in death by parents, Riley and Carrie Gross
Lindsay; wife, Rena Lindsay and brother, Everett Lindsay. Survivors: son,
L.C. Lindsay of LaFollette; daughters and sons-in-law, Pat and Don Burrell of
Jacksboro, Helen and Glen Lay of Jacksboro; sisters, Marie Daugherty of
LaFollette and Bernice Coker of Bainbridge, GA; seven grandchildren; nine
great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; special caregivers,
Virginia Rose, Carl Rose and Dustin Rose; several nieces, nephews, relatives
and special friends. Funeral services 8:00 p.m. Monday, December 27th at
Jacksboro First Baptist Church, Dr. Charles Parker and Rev. Bobby Ray Wilson
officiating. Interment 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 28th at Cumberland View
Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Monday prior to the
service at the church. The family requests that instead of flowers, memorial
donations be made to Jacksboro First Baptist Church. Arrangements by Cross
Funeral Home LaFollette.
LYLE, ROGER ALAN - age 41, died at his home Friday, December 24, 1999. He was
a graduate of Oak Ridge High School and ITT and attended First Baptist Church
of Oak Ridge. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Lyle, Sr. He is
survived by his mother, Leota Goforth Lyle; sister, Andrea Lyle; brother,
Robert L. Lyle, Jr. and wife, Stephanie; special family friend, Gary McGhee,
aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. The family will receive friends
Monday, December 27, 1999 from 6-8 p.m. at McCarty Martin Funeral Home.
Family and friends will gather at Woodlawn Cemetery in Knoxville, Tenn. on
December 28, 1999 at 10:45 a.m. for an 11:00 a.m. interment and graveside
service with Dr. Earl Whaley (uncle of the deceased) officiating. In lieu of
flowers donations may be made to The Oak Ridge Boys Club. Arrangements by
McCarty-Martin Oak Ridge Funeral Home.
