HUGHES, MARIE FORD - age 83 of LaFollette Gardens, passed away Monday,
December 20, 1999 at The LaFollette Medical Center after a long illness. She
was a member of LaFollette Baptist Temple. Ms. Hughes enjoyed quilting,
sewing and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her
husband, Coy Hughes; parents, Joe and Belle Nelson Ford and several brothers
and sisters. She is survived by her brother, J.B. Ford of LaFollette; sister,
Bonnie White of Quakertown, PA; several nieces and nephews and a host of
other relatives and friends. Funeral services 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, December
22, 1999 in the chapel of Martin Funeral Home with Rev. Herman Money
officiating. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Wednesday before
services. Family and friends will meet 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 23, 1999
at Bakers Forge Cemetery for interment. Martin Funeral Home of LaFollette in
charge of arrangements.
LOY, GEORGE JACOB - age 85, of Jacksboro, passed away Monday evening,
December 20, at the LaFollette Medical Center. He was a member of LaFollette
United Methodist Church. Mr. Loy was a 50 year member of each of the
following Masonic Lodges; Kettering Ohio F&AM Alpha Lodge, Campbell County
Scottish Rite Club, Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, Knoxville, Anticoh Temple,
Dayton, Ohio, and Cumberland Mtn. O.E.S. #137, LaFollette. He was retired
from NCR, Dayton, Ohio. Preceded in death by parents, Ernest and Clara Loy
and brother, Elmer Loy. Survivors, wife, Lexie H. Loy, Jacksboro; sons &
daughters in law, Buddy and Kathy Hale, Caryville, James & Teresa Loy, Punta
Gorda, Fla.; 3 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; sisters in law, Pearl
Hargrove, Caryville, Tenn., Aline and husband, Eugene Kirkland, Beavercreek,
Ohio, Peggy Loy, Covington, Ohio; brothers in law, and wives, Avery and
Juanita Hale, Middletown, Ohio, Arzo and Katie Hale, Caryville, Leo and Carol
Hale, Caryville, James and Betty Hale, Caryville. Funeral services 8 p.m.
Wednesday, December 22, at Cross Funeral Home Chapel Rev. Don Thomas
officiating. Interment 11 a.m. Thursday at Campbell Memorial Gardens. The
family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Cross Chapel. The family
requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the LaFollette United
Methodist Church. Arrangements by Cross Funeral Home.
McANDREW, MARTHA ROSE - age 72, of Oak Ridge died Monday, Dec. 20, 1999 at
her home. Retired sales clerk from Proffitt's Dep. Store. Member of Central
Baptist Church. Preceded in death by son, George A. McAndrew, Jr. - 8-4-1987.
Survived by: husband, George Alger McAndrew of Oak Ridge; son, James Mitchell
McAndrew and wife, Myra of Morristown; daughter, Patricia Sue McAndrew of
Clinton; special cousins, Tom McGrew of Orlando, Fla., Reba McCartney and
husband, Perry and James McGrew, all of Detroit, Mich. Funeral services are
Wed. Dec. 22, 1999 at 8 p.m. at Weatherford Mortuary with Rev. David
McPherson officiating. Graveside services are Thursday, Dec. 23, 1999 at 10
a.m. at Chestnut Hill Cemetery in Dandridge, Tenn. with Rev. Lisa Stone
officiating. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, c/o Lee
Costanzo, 103 Case Lane, Oak Ridge, Tenn. 37830. The family will receive
friends on Wednesday, Dec. 22, 1999 from 6-8 p.m. at Weatherford Mortuary,
Oak Ridge.
