HOWARD FARRIS BRANDENBURG, 64, of Clayton, Indiana, formerly of LaFollette,
died Tuesday, November 16 at IU Medical Center in Indianapolis. He served in
the U.S. Army during Vietnam, and was a member of the Fraternal Order of
Eagles. He was preceded in death by; parents, Floyd and Almedia Brandenburg.
Survivors include; wife, Linda Jones Brandenburg. Funeral services were held
Friday, November 19. Interment followed in Clayton Indiana Cemetery. Weaver's
Funeral Home, Clayton, Indiana in charge of arrangements.
A;BERTA BROYLES, 86, of Jellico, died Sunday, November 21 at Beech Tree
Manor. She was preceded in death by; parents, Squire and Bertha Parks
Broyles. Funeral services were held Tuesday, November 23 with Rev. Rick
Oakwood, Dr. Chuck Summers, and Pastor Doug Martin officiating. Interment
followed Wednesday, November 24 in the Jellico Cemetery. Cox & Son Funeral
Home in charge of arrangements.
WILLIAM CLAY HOUSLEY, 76, of Lake City, died Tuesday, November 16. He was
preceded in death by; parents, Mr. and Mrs. William O. Housley. Funeral
services were held Thursday, November 18 at the Cox-Martin Funeral Home
Chapel with Rev. Leonard Dabney officiating. Interment followed at a later
date in the National Cemetery, Baltimore, Maryland.
ROBERT J. MCGHEE, 57, of Florida, died Thursday, November 18 at the Blount
Memorial Baptist Hospital in Maryville. He was retired. He was preceded in
death by; parents, Duncan and Hazel McGhee. Funeral services were held
Saturday, November 20 at Cox-Martin Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Roger Nance
officiating. Interment followed Sunday, November 21 in the Harness Cemetery,
Caryville.
WARREN "Stevie" SHEPARD, 2nd, 28, of 202 East Elm Street, LaFollette, died
Saturday, November 20 at the LaFollette Medical Center. He was preceded in
death by; mother, Shirley Shepherd, and grandparents; Dausie and Myrtle
Shepherd; Survivors include; father, Warren Shepherd of LaFollette;
grandparents, Millard and Cleo Queener of LaFollette. Funeral services were
held Sunday, November 21 in Martin Funeral Home Chapel with Min. Conley
Shepherd officiating. Interment followed Monday, November 22 in Grantsboro
Cemetery.
BETTY C. TINDELL, 57, of the New River community, died Monday, November 22 at
her home. She was preceded in death by; mother, Beulah Jeffers. Survivors
include; husband, James E. Tindell. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m.
today (Thursday), November 25 at the New Pilot Baptist Church with the Rev.
Gene Hunter officiating. Interment will follow in Leach Cemetery in Lake
City. In leiu of flowers, donations may be made to Cox-Martin Funeral Home.
JOHN TUCKER, 75, of Caryville, died Thursday, November 18 at the Methodist
Medical Center in Oak Ridge. He was retired from TVA and was a W WII Navy
Veteran. He was preceded in death by; parents, Tom and Cora Tucker. Survivors
include; wife, Willa Dean Tucker. Funeral services were held Friday, November
19 in Cox-Martin Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rick Teague officiating.
Interment followed Saturday, November 20 in Circle Cemetery in Briceville.
