The best source for this information is probably the TVA Map Office at TVA
headquarters in Knoxville. Not sure of the street address but it's the tall
building at the top of the hill just up the street from the old City Hall/city
archives center.

It is my understanding that the buildings in the towns that were flooded (e.g.,
Grantsboro) were either moved out of the way of the water or demolished so that
they would not become hazards to navigation. Several years ago, when drought
drew down the water level significantly, there wasn't much of anything to see. A
similar situation exists on the Kingston waterfront at Watts Bar Lake. Although
the first three streets of Kingston were taken by the waters, nothing of any
significance seems to have been left in the water.

Hello all:
Where can I find a map of Tenn. showing territory prior to
the building of the Norris Dam. I understand there are towns
beneath the back waters.
