HARMON, CLARA CHILES - age 81 of Oak Ridge died Thursday, July 22, 1999 at
the NHC Health Care Center. Member of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Preceded in death by husband John H. Harmon Sr. in 1996. Survived by: son,
John H. Harmon, Jr. and wife Michelle of Columbus, MS; sisters, Ruth Cox,
Thelma Keene and Bernice McDonald, all of Knoxville; 5 grandchildren, Jay,
Erika, James, and Michael, all of MS and Rachael Langdon of Memphis. Funeral
services are Monday, July 26, 1999 at 8:00 p.m. at the First Cumberland
Presbyterian Church with Rev. Vernon Sansom and Rev. Don Tabor officiating.
Graveside services are Tuesday, July 27, 1999 at 11:00 a.m. at Lynnhurst
Cemetery in Knoxville. Memorials may be made to the First Cumberland
Presbyterian Church, 127 Lafayette Drive, Oak Ridge, TN 37830. The family
will receive friends at the church on Monday, July 26, 1999 from 6:00-8:00
p.m. Weatherford Mortuary of Oak Ridge in charge of arrangements.

PECHIN, WILLIAM H. - age 65 of Oak Ridge and a native of Lafayette, IN,
passed away July 23, 1999 at his home. He graduated in 1952 from Jefferson
High School in Lafayette and in 1956, graduated from Purdue University with a
degree in Chemical Engineering. He received his Master's Degree in Nuclear
Engineering from Iowa State and his NBA from U.T. Served 13 years in the Army
reserves of which he was Captain for 11 years. He came to Oak Ridge in 1966
as a Nuclear Engineer for O.R.N.L. from which he retired in 1993. Preceded in
death by wife, Gloria; parents, Robert Eugene and Marybell Pechin; niece,
Mary Field. Survived by: sons and daughter-in-law, David and Julia Pechin of
Jackson, TN and John Richard Pechin of Oak Ridge; daughter and son-in-law,
Amy and Wendell Blair of Harriman; grandchildren, Lindsey and Katie Blair,
and John Frank Pechin; brothers and sisters-in law, Charles and Sharon Pechin
of Rantoull, IL, and Robert E. Jr. and Martha Pechin of Lafayette; sisters
and brothers-in-law, Mary Louise Field of Lafayette and Delores and Norman
Bennett of West Lafayette; father-in-law, Eldon Erwin of West Lafayette;
several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Monday
at McCarty-Martin's Chapel with the service to follow at 8 p.m. Rev. Richie
Hayes officiating. Family and friends will meet at 9:45 a.m. Tuesday at Oak
Ridge Memorial Park for a 10 a.m. graveside service. Arrangements by
McCarty-Martin Oak Ridge Funeral Home.
