RHYNE, MAUDE J. - age 82, of Clinton, passed away June 2, 1999 at Little
Creek Sanitarium in Knoxville. She was a longtime member of Zion Baptist
Church and Honorary Member of Gospel Baptist Church. She is preceded in death
by husband, Lester Rhyne; sisters, Ruth Overton and Dora Herrell; parents,
James F. Jennings and Flora Johnson Jennings. Survivors: daughters, Linda
Cook of Morristown, Louise and husband, Larry Jones, of Kingston; sons, Carl
E. Rhyne and wife, Jean, of Powell, Jerry L. Rhyne and wife, Sherry, of
Hendersonville; sisters, Alberta Amerine of Clinton, Pearl Foust of Claxton
and Mable Vandergriff of Birmingham, AL; grandchildren, Deborah Shrader,
Duane Rhyne, Donna Inners, Tammy Belcher, De Anna Cook, Laura Scheffer, Lloyd
Jones, Jonathan and Joey Rhyne, Brandon and Brittney Haston;
great-grandchildren, Kristin Shrader, Colin Rhyne, Jared Belcher, Rebekah
Belcher, Leah Belcher, Benjamin Inners, Jeremiah Haston and Regan Haston;
many nieces and nephews; special friend and caregiver, Mary Lou Wiese of
Clinton. Funeral services 3:00 p.m. Sunday, June 5, 1999 at Holley Gamble
Chapel, Clinton, with Rev. Bill Roop officiating. Interment following funeral
at Zion Cemetery in the Claxton Community. Family will receive friends
1:00-3:00 p.m. Saturday at Holley Gamble Funeral Home. Memorials may be made
to Gideon International or The Alzheimer's Association. The family will be at
the home of Carl Rhyne, 8200 Ewing Road, Powell. Holley-Gamble Funeral Home,
Clinton, in charge of arrangements.

SIMMONS, BLANCHE GERTRUDE - age 76, of Clinton, passed away Thursday, June 3,
1999 at Baptist Hospital in Knoxville. She was a member of Cedar Hill Baptist
Church. She was born July 5, 1922 in Anderson County. Preceded in death by
husband, Donald Simmons; son, Ron Simmons; brother, Jim Vickery; grandson,
Scott Simmons; daughter-in-law, Carolyn Simmons; sisters, Thell Sittums, Ruth
Bumgardner and Faye Vickery. Survivors: daughters, Sue and husband, Bob
Tremain of Danville, IN, Janie and husband, Clyde Carr of Livingston, TN;
sons, Edward Simmons of Clinton, Don Simmons of Oklahoma City, OK, Bobby and
wife, Sarah Simmons, of Clinton, Marcus and wife, Alicia Simmons of
Alexandria, IN, Floyd Simmons and Charles Simmons, both of Anderson, IN,
Harry Simmons of Clinton, Jack Simmons of Knoxville, Tim and wife, Kim
Simmons, of Oak Ridge; 18 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sisters,
Jean Marcuim and Novella Hatmaker of Clinton; brother, John Vickery of
Clinton; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services 8:00 p.m. Saturday,
June 5, 1999 at Holley-Gamble Chapel with Rev. Layton Beets officiating.
Family will receive friends Saturday 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Holley-Gamble
Funeral Home. Funeral services will also be conducted Sunday, June 6, 1999 at
Smith Chapel Baptist Church at 4:00 p.m. in Sparta, TN with Rev. Bill Simmons
officiating. Family will receive friends 1:30 to 4:00 p.m. Central Standard
Time. Interment will follow in church cemetery. Holley-Gamble Funeral Home,
Clinton, in charge.
