JOSEPH WESLEY BEEVER, 73, of Jellico, died Wednesday, February 11 at Jellico
Community Hospital. He was a a veteran of the US Navy serving in WWII, a
graduate of Eastern Kentucky University, and retired from Y-12 in Oak Ridge.
He was preceded in death by parents, Edward Joseph and Henrietta Hackney
Beever. Funeral services were held Saturday, February 13 at Cox & Son Funeral
Home in Lake City with Rev. Wayne Hedrick officiating. Interment followed
Sunday in Jellico Cemetery.
MARY "Mary" ELLER BORUFF, 76, of LaFollette, died Monday, February 15 at
LaFollette Medical Center. She was preceded in death by parents, William and
Jane Maxwell. Survivors include husband, Emory Lee Boruff.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 16 at Martin Funeral Home with
Rev. Emerson Sweat and Rev. Bill Maxwell officiating. Interment followed
Wednesday in Victory Cemetery.
ELIZABETH KIDD CUPP, 86, of Live Oak, Florida, formerly of Jellico, died
Tuesday, February 9 at her home. Funeral services were held Saturday, February
13 at Friendly Valley Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Timmons officiating.
Interment followed in Walden Cemetery in Stinking Creek. Harp Funeral Home of
Jellico in charge of arrangements.
RENA MAE DAGLEY, 87, of LaFollette, died Saturday, February 13 at Lake City
Health Care Center. She was preceded in death by parents, Elijah and Parlie
Lindsay Hatmaker. Survivors include husband, Thomas E. Dagley of Lake City.
Funeral services were held Monday, February 15 at Martin Funeral Home with
Bro. Jerry Dagley officiating. Interment followed Tuesday in Grantsboro
Cemetery.
CORA A RIDENOUR DARTY, 97, died Sunday, February 14 in Akron, Ohio. She was a
longtime resident of LaFollette. She was preceded in death by husband, Bill
Darty. Graveside services will be held Thursday, February 18 in Bakers Forge
Cemetery with Rev. Leonard Dabney officiating. Memorials may be made to Midway
Baptist Church. Martin Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
MICHAEL WAYNE DILBECK, 37, of Duff, died Friday, February 12 at LaFollette
Medical Center. He was preceded in death by father, Robert Dilbeck. Survivors
include wife, Jeannie Dilbeck of Duff; mother, Pauline Dilbeck of Duff.
Funeral services were held Monday, February 15 at White Oak Church of God with
Rev. Jimbo Bolton and Rev. Paul Cox officiating. Interment followed Tuesday in
Bolton Cemetery. Harp Funeral Home of Jellico in charge of arrangements.
RAY H. HARMON, 77, of Lake City, died Tuesday, February 9 at Methodist Medical
Center.. He was retired from the US Army in 1963 with 23 years of service. He
was a member of the 101st Airborne Division (AASLT) serving in WWII and Korea.
He was preceded in death by wife, Margaret Marie Harmon; parents, Pete and
Rose Greer Harmon. Funeral services were held Friday, February 12 at Cox-
Martin Funeral Home with Rev. Brian Courtney officiating. Interment followed
in Circle Cemetery in Briceville with full military honors.
LILA JONES, 85, of Jellico, died Tuesday, February 9 at LaFollette Medical
Center. She was a member of Jellico Chapter #215 Order of the Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by parents, Colvin and Lenn Cobey Long. Funeral
services were held Friday, February 12 at Jellico First Baptist Church with
Dr. Chuck Summers officiating. Interment followed in Jellico Cemetery. Cox &
Son Funeral Home of Jellico in charge of arrangements.
MELISSA ANN YOUNG LEWIS, 30, of Jellico, died Friday, February 12 at UT
Medical Center in Knoxville.
She is survived by husband, Michael Lewis of Jellico; parents, Jack and Norma
Young of Jellico. Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 16 at Harp
Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Branam, Rev. Lester Cox, and Rev. Lee Ray
officiating. Interment followed in Douglas Cemetery.
IDA MOORE, 100, of Jellico, died Friday, February 12 at Beech Tree Manor. She
was preceded in death by parents, James and Dora Stinson Wells and husband,
James Moore. Funeral services were held Monday, February 15 at Cox & Son
Funeral Home with Rev. Horace Partin officiating. Interment followed in Lot
Cemetery.
Rev. ROBERT L. REYNOLDS, 81, of LaFollette, died Monday, February 15 at
LaFollette Medical Center. He was a retired teacher. He was preceded in death
by wives, Agnes and Doris. Funeral services were held Wednesday, February 17
at Walters Funeral Home. Interment will follow Thursday at 10 a.m. in Woodlawn
Cemetery.
BETTY JO JOHNSON ROE, 66, of Lake City, died Monday, February 15 at Oak Ridge
Methodist medical Center. She retired from Fox Diner in Lake City where she
was a waitress. She was preceded in death by husband, Harlan Roe; parents,
Charles Lee and Reimae Massengill Johnson. Funeral services were held Tuesday,
February 16 at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Lake City with Rev. Jimmy Ault
and Rev. Warner Hawkins officiating. Interment will follow in Hopewell
Cemetery, Montgomery, Ohio.
BUFORD EUGENE TUCKER, 67, of Briceville, died Wednesday, February 10 at Oak
Ridge Methodist Medical Center. He was a retired laborer with the Southern
Railroad Company. He was preceded in death by parents, Erwin and Vera Poore
Tucker. Survivors include wife, Colleen Tucker. Funeral services were held
Friday, February 12 at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Lake City with Rev. Kelly
Pyles officiating. Interment followed Saturday in Circle Cemetery,
EDWARD WRIGHT, 79, of LaFollette, died Sunday, February 14 at St. Mary's
Hospital in Knoxville. Retired from Tennessee State Highway Department. He was
also a veteran of WWII. Survivors include wife, June Wright. Funeral services
were held Monday, February 15 at Cross Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Orick
officiating. Interment followed Tuesday in Woodlawn Cemetery,
