BARNES, MARTHA - age 79, of Oak Ridge, Tenn., passed away February 11, 1999,
at the family home. Retired Sales Clerk from Miller's Dept. Store. Longtime
active member of Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Born in Springfield, Tenn.,
she was a longtime resident of Oak Ridge. Preceded in death by: husband, Vic
Barnes. Survivors: son and daughter-in-law, Ken and Joyce Barnes of Clinton,
Tenn.; daughter and son-in-law, Vicki and Phil Ryan of Knoxville; two
grandsons, Will and Joey Barnes of Clinton; brothers, William A. Shannon and
Robert J. Shannon. Funeral 12 noon Saturday at McCarty Martin Funeral Home
Chapel. Burial will follow service in the Oak Ridge Memorial Park Cemetery
with Rev. Vernon Sansom officiating. Memorials may be made to the American
Cancer Society. Family will receive friends 6-7:30 p.m., Friday at McCarty
Martin Funeral Home in Oak Ridge.

GARRETT, THELMA - of Oak Ridge, died at the Methodist Medical Center on
Wednesday, February 10, 1999. Was Executive Director with the Oak Ridge
Nursery School. Member of First United Methodist Church and Eastern Star #390,
Oak Ridge. Survivors include: husband, Earl Garrett, Oak Ridge; several
nieces, nephews and many friends. Funeral service will be held on Saturday,
February 13, 1999, at 2 p.m., in the chapel of Weatherford Mortuary with Rev.
Kenneth Henderlight officiating. Interment will be in Oak Ridge Memorial Park.
Memorials may be made to Oak Ridge Nursery School, 151 Robertsville Road, Oak
Ridge, TN 37830. The family will receive friends on Friday, February 12, 1999,
from 7-9 p.m., at Weatherford Mortuary, Oak Ridge.

SPARKS, JAMES B. - A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 13,
1999, at 3 p.m., at The First Christian Church in Oak Ridge. James B. Sparks
is the husband of Helyn Sparks and brother of Austelle Sparks.
