Betty Ann HYDEN YORK, born July 7, 1917 & raised in Clear Fork Valley
(Fonde, Valley Creek) passed away Friday in Greenville, Ohio. She was
the widow of Fred YORK and left 11 children, 35 grandchildren and 31
great grandchildren. Her parents were Joe Dan & Sarah HAMMITTE Hyden;
grandparents were Samuel Slater & Marlena CUPP Hyden; great grandparents
were George Rice & Elizabeth THOMAS Hyden from Lee Co. VA.; great-great
grandparents were Samuel Monroe & Eliza CARTER Hyden; great-great-great
grandparents were John C. & Elizabeth BRASHEARS Hyden;
great-great-great-great grandparents were Daniel & Mary ---?---HYDEN from
Stafford Co./Lee Co. VA.

I am seeking information on Betty's husband's family (Fred York) who
lived in Campbell Co. for many years. I know that his parents were Alvis
(b. 1860, Campbell co.) and Cordie York. Fred's brothers & sisters
included Frank, Gilbert, Calvin, Arnold, Eliza, and Nan. Alvis' parents
were Joseph & Rebecca Duncan York (m. Feb. 5, 1841in Campbell Co.). Alvis
had the following older brothers & sisters: William, Emanuel, Rachael,
Cynthia, Lutitia, James. It is believed that Joseph came to Campbell Co.
from Fentress Co. and was related to the family of Sgt. Alvin C. YORK.
Any information would be appreciated.
