LINDSAY, ETTA MRS. - age 96, passed away December 25, 1998 in Ohio. She was
born August 7, 1902 in Campbell County. Etta Was a member of Pleasant View
Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Lindsay.
Survivors: sons and daughter-in-laws, Cecil and Nellie Lindsay of Monroe,
Michigan; Charles Willard and Carol Lindsay of Lizton, Indiana; daughter and
son-in-law, Vesta Arizona and Wallace Lewis of Tipp City, Ohio; brother,
Spencer White of Clearmont, Florida; 7 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren
and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday,
December 29, 1998 at Cox-Martin Chapel with Rev. Brian Courtney officiating.
Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Monday, December 28, 1998 at Cox-Martin
Funeral Home In Lake City. Interment will be at Oak Grove Cemetery following
the funeral service. Cox-Martin Funeral Home, Lake City, in charge of all
arrangements.
PHILLIPS, ELSIE - age 80, of Clinton, passed away Sunday, December 27, 1998,
at Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge. She was a member of Jarnigan's
Chapel Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by husband, Ernest Phillips;
son, Ralph Phillips; parents, Jake and Sabra Daughterty Phillips. Survivors
include daughters, Ravena Powell of Clinton and late husband, James R. Powell,
Melva and husband, James McKamey of Clinton; son, J.B. and wife, Georgia
Phillips of Seymour, Tenn.; grandchildren, Kenny Powell, Debbie Nuchols, Keith
Powell, Lori Stout, Randy McKamey, Denise Scalf and Jason Phillips; 11 great-
grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral service 2 p.m. Wednesday,
December 30, 1998, at Holley-Gamble Chapel with Rev. Luke Kidwell officiating.
Interment Wednesday following funeral service at Jarnigan's Chapel Cemetery in
Clinton. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Holley-Gamble Funeral
Home in Clinton.
WILLIAMS, NOLA A. WIGGINS - age 92, of Hillvale Community in Clinton, passed
away Monday, December 28, 1998, at Windwood Health Care Center. She was born
November 24, 1906, in Bryson City, N.C. She was a member of Old Hillvale
Baptist. Her hobby was gardening. She was preceded in death by husband, Harvey
H. Williams; son, Dale Trent; brothers, Clyde and Claude Wiggins; sister,
Mandy Elliott and Exie Finch; parents, Albert and Lillie Burns Wiggins.
Survivors: daughter, Ambia Ottinger of Dandridge, Tenn.; sons, Harlan and
Myrma Williams, Mitchel and Geneva Williams, Ray and Ruth Williams, all of
Clinton; brothers, John and Mack Wiggins, both of Clinton; sisters, Edna
Webber of Clinton, Lucille Atkins of Dayton, Ohio; seven grandchildren; seven
great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral service 8:30 p.m.
Tuesday, December 29, 1998, at Holley-Gamble Chapel with Rev. Katherine Nance
and Rev. Mark Keith officiating. Interment 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 30, at
Norris Memorial Garden. Family will receive friends 7-8:30 p.m. Tuesday at
Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton
SANDERSON, DOTSI JoANN - age 55, of Clinton, passed away December 27, 1998 at
her home. Survived by son, Rick Sanderson; daughters and sons-in-law, Denise
Fulton, Tanya and Dwayne Myers, Elizabeth Clarkson, Lisa and John Heikkinen
and Gina and Andy Clabo; 15 grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law, Linda
and John Walker, Connie Anderson and Dellanee and Jerry Jeffers; sister-in-
law, Katheryn Mallabey; former husband, Danny Sanderson; several cousins,
nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Anderson County Hospice. Interment will
be in Roseberry Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 29, 1998. Arrangements
by McCarty Weaver Cumberland Chapel.
