HENDERSON, WARREN HEADLEE - 86, of 104 West Pasadena Lane, died Thursday, June
11, 1998, at his home. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and
had been active in his church and community activities. Mr. Henderson had more
than 36 years of federal service, 22 of those years in Oak Ridge. His last
position was director of finance of the Atomic Energy Commissions' Oak Ridge
Operations, which he held from 1964 until his retirement in 1974. Born
February 28, 1912, in Indianola, Iowa, he was the son of the late Rev. Virgil
W. and Mary Headlee Henderson. He was a graduate of the University of
Nebraska. During World War II he served as a communications officer with the
U.S. Navy in the South Pacific. Mr. Henderson was preceded in death by his
parents and his wife of 57 years, the former Marie Elleen Burket of Minburn,
Iowa. Mr. Henderson is survived by two daughters and their husbands, Sherrill
and Richard Mortenson of Charlotte, N.C. and Barbara and Thomas Casey of Oak
Ridge; four grandchildren, Eric and his wife, Jeannine Mortenson and Sean
Mortenson, all of Charlotte, N.C., Bridget Casey Davies and her husband, Yann
of Brighton, England and Timothy Casey of Oak Ridge; also by several nieces
and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 17,
at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ken Henderlight officiating.
The family will receive friends in the church parlor beginning at 2 p.m. and
also following the service. Graveside service will be held in Minburn, Iowa.
