I have recently discovered that my 3xgrandfather is buried in Newcomb
Cemetery (presume this is in or near Jellico). The reason we haven't been
able to find him is that his gravestone was stolen. Disgusting, isn't it?
He died somewhere between 1920-1929. Does anyone know how I could get a
record of his burial. Does the cemetery itself have records that I could
obtain? Can I write to some local place in Newcomb for the info? It
appears that the tombstone was stolen within the past 7 years or so (more or
less), so I am assuming that this tombstone/plot would have been part of the
record all along.
He was J.H. Rigney, but could be listed several ways:
John Hank Rigney
Jehu Hank Rigney
Jahue Hank Rigney
Hank Rigney
Can you help? Do you have an old tombstone inscriptions book, maybe that
would include this stone? I'd appreciate your help.
