I was involved in correcting a lot of speculation (better mis-speculation)
on the Georgia SCV email list where I did get quite al ot of flack but also
did find a hidden SUVCW member at large in Georgia who got tired of some of
the really radical ones attempting to beat me up on-line.

I know the Elias Moon commander (who is on this list) did check out the
story becuase word first here was SUVCW-SCV camps merging or something. He
did some research and found the real story about the whole affair as SCV
members with dual lineages (which I include myself) created a SUVCW.

I think a lot more could be done forjoint projects. I know in Georgia we
have some SCV camps that receive the SUVCW with open arms for their
functions. We have participated in living history days for schools and at
least one joint grave dedication where there were Union and Confederate
Veterans in the same cemetery and the SCV invited SUVCW particiption.
However, some SCV groups have openly spared with members of SUVCW here in
Georgia. I think many in the SCV still see SUVCW as an enemy (in part
because we don't defend the Confederate flag they way they think it should
be) but some fail to see the power that could be used for common goals
together such as grave and battlefield preservation.

Its sad that the whole affair killed off a SCV camp. Thanks for the update
on that situation though.
