Dear Listers:
What is the earliest date you have for a Stewart Ancestor in your line?
>From The Past and Present of Marshall County, Iowa, pg 890, " The Stewart
family is of Scotch extraction, and the first of them to come to the united
States . . . in 1745. He was in the Indian massacre at Fort William Henry."
Unproven
Who is the progenitor of your line as far as your research goes today?
>From The Past and Present of Marshall County, Iowa, pg 890, John Stewart, and
five brothers were among the first settlers in the vicinity of Ft. Warren,
New York, there being very few settlers in that region when they went there.
John Stewart and his five brothers were all in the war of 1812, in which two of
them lost their lives." Not proven
Who is your immigrant to whatever country you are in?
See first question
When did they come?
See first question
How did they get there?
Don't have a clue - except probably by ship
Where did they come from?
See first question
Why did they leave? Or did they?
Again - no clue
Now About John's son Joseph, I do know and have proof if anyone is
interested.
