Power of Attorney from Charles Stuart of Adams Co MS Territory to Samuel Neely of Davidson Co. TN...my attorney to sell such real estate in District of Mero (Cumberland Settlements)TN this 23 June, 1803 (This is Charles Stuart who came to TN in 1799 from Bladen County, NC, twin brother of Duncan. Both moved to MS by 1811. Brother James stayed in TN. Stewart County named for Duncan Stewart.)

May 27, 1797- Settlement of estate of Wm. Stewart deceased made by Peter B. Stewart, Adm.
Signed by Thomas Talbot & John Nichols. (This Wm. Stewart lived on White's Creek and for a short time on Mill Creek. He was killed by Indians in 1794.) Had daughters, Mary and Catherine, Sons, Wm., Peter, and John.
