I feel so lonely up here in the North. Is anyone researching the
Stewarts in New York City? I think I have found relatives back to a
Charles Stewart who was a shoemaker. I know at least one son, Lewis,
was also a shoemaker. Lewis married Hannah Mead @1826 in NYC. Their
children were: E. Matilda , Charles , Theodore b. 1837.
died 1887, Caroline Virginia b. @1840, Edward , James ,
and Franklin b.1850 ( after census day of 1850 since he is not listed
on 1850 census). And one of these men is the father of my great
grandfather, Theodore Lewis Stewart who died in 1940 in Brooklyn, New
York.
I recently found an advertisement of a Theodore Mead, Shoemaker, who
was looking for help, living in Virginia. With the naming practice of
the day, it would fit that the second son was named after wife's
father, but I have no proof.... it just came up and may lead to some
clues.
ANY HELP appreciated.
Now, if anyone is researching Henderson, Williams, Wheeler, Marbury,
Royall, New England Royalls. Eppes, Bedford or Price, I do have a
family history put together by Dr. Frank L. Henderson prior to his
death in 1927.
