Sandy, In case you don't have this information, William Stewart, Madison
Co., TN. is found on the TN 1835 Pension Roll. I don't know where you find
the original information for such but if you go to the link below, someone
has transcribed the information.
ftp://ftp.rootsweb.com/pub/usgenweb/tn/military/pen1835.txt
Also someone submitted Bible records for this Stewart family on the Madison
Co. TN GenWeb page. The Stewart Clan Mag. has several pages on this family
which I will be glad to send you if you don't already have them. Just keep
in mind that the information contained in this magazine was submitted by
family genealogist like you and I or concluded by the editor from records he
found. At best, the information is only a CLUE to check, NOT FACTS. My TN.
Stewart line is through the John Stewart who married Mary in 1775, the
sister of Robert
Weakley. Bartholomew named a son Robert Weakley Stewart. Robert Weakley
of Cubb Creek, Halifax, VA had a Stewart line through his mother, Eleanor,
who was the daughter of Thomas Stewart of Halifax Co. The Weakley's went to
Montgomery, Davidson, Dickson Co. TN from Halifax Co. VA.
Bartholomew, as well as his brother, Andrew, were very prominent in early
Dickson Co. TN records before they moved on to Madison Co.
