Dot -- just for fun I "googled" around and found the Fort William Henry museum website. Their e-mail address:
Maybe they can help?

Subject: [STEWART] Fort William Henry
Hello all - can anyone tell me where I can find a listing of soldiers of Fort
William Henry about mid 1750's? I am lead to believe that a Stewart (sorry I
don't have a name) ancestor was a soldier at Fort William Henry or "was in
the Indian massacre at Fort William Henry".
I have seen the wonderful write-up on the subject in the internet, but there
are not "common" soldiers listed.
Any help locating this list will be very much appreciated.
Dot
