I have heard that the war was called "the War of the "Presbytyrs" because
their were so many Presbyterian ministers who participated. One minister stood
in his pulpit on Sunday morning as he was about to preach and took off his
outer clothes to reveal a soldiers dress and revealed to his congregation that he
was leaving to do another kind of battle.
Their battlecry was "We have no King but King Jesus!" and when they ran out
of the metal to make the bullets they began to tear up the hymnals written by a
man names Watts and said at the time "we'll give them Watts!"
