Here is some more information that I got when I went to Vincennes University
in IN.

Robert Stewart m. Isabella Curtis
He came with his brother Abe to SC from VA.
Children:

3. Robert m. Elizabeth Durha, m. 1838
4. John m. Alexander
5. Tommie m. Baker
6. Billie m. (1) Parsons (2) Price
7. Katherine m. Jacob Lewis
8. Mary m. James Lewis
9. Nancy m. 1839 John Whitmire
This will account for two Stewart's of the three that married children of
Jacob Lewis, Sr.

4. James Madison Stewart m. Mary Malinda Lewis Nov. 14, 1865
James was b. May 16, 1839, and d. Feb 26, 1928
Mary Malinda was b. June 14, 1843, and d. Apr 14, 1896

James Madison Stewart m. (2) Bessie Hamilton in 1898.
5. Rufus Stewart m. Margaret Lewis b. Aug 10, 1863
6. Josie Stewart m. Henry Jacob Lewis b. June 8, 2849.

Three children of James Lewis married three children of Robert Stewart.


Descendants of Mary Malinda Stewart Lewis

1. Duff; never married; lived and died in Washington, DC
2. Belton; buried at Secona Church, Pickens, SC
3. Airy Emma m. Stone Wall Major; lived in Pickens and Beaufort, SC. Buried
at Baptist Church, Beaufort, SC. Airy was b. Aug 29, 1869, and died Aug. 10.
1957. Stone Wall disappeared in 1893-never returned till 1938. Left again
after visiting his old home at Sandy Springs, SC, and Beaufort, SC. Their
child was Patti Major b. Nov 11, 1892. She married Benjamin Bostick on Feb 27,
1924, who was b. Oct 10, 1895. Their wedding performed in Pickens, SC, by the
Rev. D. W. Hiott, who had also baptized Patti.
4. Lena m. Francis Edward Cox; both buried in Sunrise City Cemetery,
Pickens, SC. Lena died 11-9-1957.
5. Ruth m. Ben. Griffin d. may, 26, 1960.
