Carl Jerome Stewart Jr. is a lawyer and lives in Gastonia, NC. He served in
the NC House of Representatives and was Speaker of the House for two terms.
In 1980 he was a candidate for Lt. Governor of NC. He may know more about
this Ralph Stewart. His father was Carl Jerome Stewart, Sr. who had a
brother Ralph Stewart about whom I know nothing.

I have information on the ancestors of this Ralph Stewart if he is the
correct one. This is what I have on this man.


John Stewart of 4th Creek in Iredell County, N. C.
Ralph Stewart (New Sterling Community in Iredell County, N.
C.)
Elihue Stewart (Elihu Stewart, the twelfth child of
Ralph and Rebecca Johnson Stewart, was born about
1816 and died October 28, 1879.
He is buried at Concord Methodist Church
in Catawba County, NC. Elihu
Stewart was a shoemaker. He and his wife,
Caroline Kerr Stewart, were the
parents of eight children.
Thomas A. Stewart (Thomas A. Stewart lived in
Cherryville, NC.)
