I have a Susannah Stewart that married Stephen Redman in Washington Co TN
(then NC) on 5 Sep 1792. Despite there being many other Stewarts/Stuarts in
that county I've not been able to determine Susannah's parents, or even any
siblings (there was a prominent James in Washington records). *However*, I
have been investigating the surname Redman in Pitts/Henry/Franklin Co and
found a Stephen and James Redman there in the 1780s, and an Ignatious and
Rhodom (male name) Redman from 1767 to 1811. Have you encountered the name
Redman in your research into these southern Virginia counties?
