Hi Pat
I am a descendent of John Stewart and Hannah Boone. We have not yet found
family for our John Stewart, not for lack of trying. When we first connected my
famiy with John and Hannah and other descendents of theirs, one of my cousins
suggested, not quite facetiously, that if we could find his burial place, we could
request DNA testing and try to match us up, as some were trying to do with the
Jefferson family! When I first heard that DNA testing for genealogy purposes was
becoming available, I signed up as soon as I could, with the Scottish Clan group.
Since then the Stewarts have started testing and I have sent them my test results (I
mean, of course, my brother's results, I don't have the Y chromosome)to see if we
can match with a family that might have misplaced their John back in 1769.
However, I can't see any connection with your John Boon and Hannah Stewart,
though their names pop up regularly whenever I'm doing web searches, because all
four names in total are the same. (The Boones sometimes spelled their name
Boon.) We have a possible birth date of about 1744/45 in North Carolina for John,
and death date of winter 1769/70.
When we connect John with a Stewart family, be sure we will post here first!
Cheers,
Erica Stewart
